Kate Middleton is expecting her third child

The Duchess of Cambridge (pictured left last week) is pregnant with her third child - but has been forced to release the news early after being struck with severe morning sickness yet again. Kate, 35, battled Hyperemesis Gravidarum during her first two pregnancies and was hospitalised when expecting George in 2012. Today the Duchess was forced to miss her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children's Centre in London today, and is being cared for at Kensington Palace. The happy news that George, four, and Charlotte, two, will have a new sibling in April or May next year came later in a statement. The Queen was clearly delighted by the news as she opened the new Queensferry Crossing spanning the Firth of Forth today (inset) while Prince Harry gave a thumbs up in Manchester (right) and said he is ‘very happy for them’ adding his sister-in-law is ‘doing ok’.

Where are New York's club kids of the '80s and '90s now?

The Club Kids of the '80s and '90s burst onto the scene of New York City nightlife with outrageous outfits, over-the-top antics and a crazy lifestyle to boot. They ruled the nightclub scene and horrified straight-laced viewers of television talk shows, grabbing every opportunity to publicize their avant-garde existence. Their world came crashing down, however, when Club 'King' Michael Alig and fellow Club Kid Robert 'Freeze' Riggs pleaded guilty in 1997 in the killing and dismembering of Andre 'Angel' Melendez. Now, 20 years later, former Club Kids share what they've been up to since then - including Amanda Lepore (main, right) and, clockwise from top left, Michael Alig, Ernie 'Glam' Garcia, Walt Cassidy and Jenny 'Jenny Talia' Dembrow

Piers Morgan: Why won't China get rid of Kim Jong-un?

PIERS MORGAN: Kim Jong-un must be stopped in his nuclear tracks by China before its too late. The world can no longer sit back and let this crazed upstart act with such brazen and dangerous impunity given the increasing size and power of his nuclear weaponry. The biggest threat to world peace right now is North Korea and the one country that can most effectively neutralise this threat is China. It’s simply not good enough for President Xi to stick his head in the sand and hope it all blows over, like China has consistently done in previous North Korean crisis moments. Xi has to flex China’s considerable economic muscle and do it now.

How Kim affords nuclear programme as North Korea starves

NEW While North Korea is meant to be shackled by crippling sanctions, its dictator still manages to fund a nuclear programme and his own lavish lifestyle.  Kim Jong-un supposedly does this by hacking banks, selling endangered species, Viagra and crystal meth as well as through a number of other illicit methods.   The illegal dealings could reportedly be bringing the isolated country's leader as much as a whopping billion dollars a year while the nation remains one of just 34 in the world relying on UN handouts to feed its people.

While the supreme leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un is mostly known for his brutal regime, not many people know that he lived a big part of his life as a student in Switzerland where he enjoyed singing.

Hurricane Irma is a 'serious threat' to the US

Meteorologists say Hurricane Irma poses a 'serious threat' to the U.S. It's still unclear what route the storm will take, or if it will even hit America. But it's possible that it could make landfall in the Carolinas or in the Florida panhandle this weekend. If so, it would be a devastating second blow to the U.S., still grappling with the fallout of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.

Democrats seize on report Trump will end DACA

NEW Democratic lawmakers are rallying around a last-ditch bid to save former President Barack Obama's program protecting illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors. Terminating DACA would be 'cruel' and 'inhumane' of President Donald Trump, Democratic lawmakers proclaimed on Twitter as they began the last day of summer recess. 'If he spoke to even one DREAMer he'd know it,' Florida Rep. Ted Deutch said in a Monday morning message. 'If he had any feeling. If he could be empathetic. If only.'

If he's confirmed, Grenell would be the first openly gay envoy in the Trump administration. He was also considered as a potential ambassador to both the United Nations and NATO.

Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen said the man ran through a human-chain of security officers at about 10.30pm Saturday during the burning of The Man event at the counter-culture festival. The sheriff said he was rescued by firefighters and later died at the UC Davis hospital burn center in California. His father, Don Mitchell, said it was his son's first time attending the festival and that they have not been told exactly what happened. 'The coroner asked us if he was depressed and we said no. He was really a happy guy,' his father said. 'Maybe he was slipped something. We really don't know. He was always very cautious about what he ate.'

Was this the moment Kate hinted she was pregnant again? Laughing Duchess told William 'We'll just have to have more babies' during their royal tour of Poland seven weeks ago (and she barely touched her glass of wine)

The Duchess, 35, was on a tour of Warsaw when she was given a cuddly toy designed to sooth newborns and turned to Prince William and joked: 'We will just have to have more babies' (right). She speculated about having another child during the reception in Poland in July - just hours before she donned a dazzling ivory gown for a garden party in the Queen's honour. She was later seen toasting a glass wine later that evening (left). It comes as Kensington Palace announced that the couple are expecting their third child.

Twitter reacts to news of Kate Middleton's third baby

Kensington Palace took to Twitter on Monday to announce the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their third child. The tweet has thus far received over 65,000 likes from royal fans with the hashtag #RoyalBaby currently the top trending subject on Twitter. But on top of felicitations it didn't take long for wise-cracking netizens to share their hilarious tweets in response to the news. Several memes have already popped up in reaction to the announcement including one witty tweeter who shared 'have a break, have a kid Kate' parodying the famous KitKat slogan (left). Elsewhere, users remarked on the couples ever-growing brood parodying the announcement with movie sequels with one Twitter user referring to the royal heir as 'Royal Baby: Tokyo Drift'.

The current order of succession is Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, followed by Charlotte and Harry. A law change means male siblings no longer overtake their sisters.

Kate's 'rogueish' uncle Gary Goldsmith, 52, believes the royal couple won't stop at three babies - which means they could follow in the Queen's footsteps by having four children in total.

Historically black beaches that broke barriers

NEW Beaches all along the east coast were established as predominantly African American because Jim Crow laws prohibited them from vacationing elsewhere. Some, like Highland Beach, Maryland, catered exclusively to the black elite in the Northeast. Others, such as Carr's Beach, held raucous parties that were the platform for the development of rhythm & blues and jazz genres. A map, top left, illustrates a few of the most prominent black beaches of the late 19th and early 20th century. Due to post-Reconstruction and Jim Crow era racism, African Americans were prohibited from visiting most beaches that were open to the white public. With the formation of beaches that were entirely their own, black families could relax (pictured right), learn to swim (pictured left), and dance the night away in safe spaces - which paved the way for the African American identity in the United States and American culture as a whole.

Research from the University of Miami found that although women spent more time playing their game they treated it like a hobby where the objective was to have fun and not win.

The race is on! Man's cruise through a city centre on his electric skateboard becomes epic dash for victory against an OAP in her mobility scooter - but who do YOU think will win?

The contest, filmed in east Asia, was a real nail-biter with both sides taking the lead at times. Footage of the moment begins with the young man talking to the camera, which he holds with a selfie stick while riding through the streets. But then the woman in the mobility scooter comes zooming up behind him before overtaking as they cross the road. Realising he has been challenged to 'the race of the century' the gobsmacked skateboarder exclaims:  'Oh my God, we're getting schooled.'
