But Ella Henderson was grabbing attention for altogether different reasons as she enjoyed an evening out with pals at a South London pub last month.

Looking a far cry from her usual polished self, the 21-year-old former X Factor contestant rocked tousled platinum locks as she indulgently puffed on a cigarette while cracking a relaxed smile.

Not content with proving her vocal ability, the Ghost singer then decided to get her groove on as she displayed a series of bizarre dance moves outside the pub, karate kicking into the air and twerking her booty down to the ground.

The Glow songstress slipped into a low-key ensemble for her evening out, covering up her curves in a slouchy slogan hoodie which she teamed with ebony leggings.

For comfort she donned raven sneakers.

Her pretty features were accentuated with a light slick of mascara and she added a touch of gloss to her pout.

Ella couldn't stop dancing much to the amusement of her pals as she popped and locked while flashing a huge smile.

Last month Ella put on a jawdropping display as she posed up with only crystals covering her pert bust for a night out.

Forgoing a top or bra, the star flashed her assets as she seductively posed near topless with a mixture of rainbow glitter and gems covering her body.

Still signed with Simon's Syco music label, Ella hinted at a return to music earlier in the summer when she appeared on the multi-star relief single, Bridge Over Troubled Water.

The all-star rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's track went straight to No1 and has helped to raise a significant amount of money for survivors and families.

Delighting fans, Ella confirmed in November 2016 that her second album - a follow up to Chapter One - was finished.

On her creative experience of working with Simon, Ella recently said: 'The most important thing I was looking for was to be involved creatively, and which label presents me with the best team to bring the best out of me.

'The fact that [Simon] is letting me be involved creatively is overwhelming.'

Though she has taken a step back in the last year, Ella has previously spoken about her determination to stay true to herself in the spotlight.

On her refusal to be pressured into changing her body shape, she admitted that her experiences with extreme dieting in the past has influenced the way she treats herself.

She explained: 'There is pressure out there on young women. You look around you, in magazines and you think, “Should I be skinny? Do I need to go on a diet?”

'It’s easy to fall into that trap. Last year [in 2011] I was very body-conscious. I went completely the other way and I went underweight at a certain point.

'I’m a normal-sized girl. I’ll never be a size zero, that’s just not going to happen but I’m simply going to be myself and I hope people will accept me for who I am.'
