'It was awful': Megan Fox admits it was a real 'struggle' to get her pre-baby body back after giving birth to her third son Journey

She is a doting and loving mum to three adorable sons with hunky Hollywood actor husband Brian Austin Green.

But actress Megan Fox has admitted she had an 'awful' experience trying to get her pre-baby body back following the birth of her third son, Journey River, in 2016.

The brunette beauty is famous for her sizzling curves and killer figure but in a new interview she confessed it took a lot of hard work to lose the baby weight after Journey's arrival.

The 31-year-old told Extra: 'I worked out really hard. This time, it was a struggle for me and there was just a lot of walks and very long runs. It was awful.'

Megan, who is also mother to sons Noah, four, and three-year-old Bodhi, added that she's been sleep deprived for nearly a year thanks to the combination of a new arrival and two energetic little boys.

'I haven't slept in almost a year. There's not one night that I have slept through the night. I'm still breastfeeding and he [Journey] wakes up all the time, and then the other two come and wake me up; they get in bed with me also.'

Transformers star Megan and husband Brian welcomed their first son Noah Shannon back in September 2012, followed by Bodhi Ransom in February 2014 and Journey River in August 2016.

Brian is also dad to son Kassius, 15, from a previous relationship.

Megan was motivated to lose the baby weight because she had a campaign to shoot with lingerie brand Frederick's of Hollywood just five months after giving birth to Journey.

She told People in March: 'I do generally bounce back pretty quick, but it does take a lot of work – I had to work out harder this time than I had to ever work out in my life!

'It was difficult but I will say, the appreciation I have for what my body is capable of and how motivated I can be in my ability to achieve a goal is greatly enhanced from going through that experience.'

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the screen siren had admitted she was 'worried' ahead of her sexy lingerie photoshoot because she had just given birth - but the experience made her appreciate her body even more.

'When it’s five months post-baby, that’s always an interesting challenge, because it doesn’t matter how cleanly you eat or how much you work out or how well you take care of yourself — you’ve still just had a human being pass through your body and things are not going to be exactly the way they were before,' she said.

'I hadn’t been wearing lingerie before that, and I looked in the mirror, and I was like, the fact that I look this way after having a baby is a miracle, and I was thankful, and it gave me a little boost of confidence.'

Despite Megan's struggle to regain her pre-baby figure, her other half has said the pair haven't ruled out adding to their brood.

During a Facebook Live chat with Hollywood Pipeline earlier this year, Brian joked: 'I have four boys now, a fifth is a basketball team. So that would be kind of awesome.'

Brian, 44, admitted he would love a daughter - and the only thing that may put him off having another child would be getting a fifth son.

'I’m worried that if I try I’ll just get another boy,' he said. 'Not just because I love my boys, but I’ll have another boy and I don’t know if I’m ready for five!'

Megan and Brian married in 2010, but separated in August 2015, with the actress filing for divorce a few days later.

However in April 2016, it was revealed that Megan was pregnant, and the pair then reconciled and called off the divorce.
