Finance Office

The Finance Department is responsible for providing administrative and fiscal guidance, support and direction to all operations within Sandhills Center.

There are three main divisions and functions of the Finance Department: Budgetary and Financial Reporting, General Accounting and Reimbursement.

Budgetary and Financial Reporting

The Finance Department is responsible for preparing and administering the budget for Sandhills Center.

The Finance Department is responsible for preparation of various accounting reports which include the Annual Financial Audit, Board Reports, DHHS State Reports, DMA Reports and County Commissioner reports. Responsibilities also include analysis and monitoring of federal and state grants and provider contracts.

General Accounting

The Finance Department manages all payroll and accounts payable functions for the Sandhills Center. The payroll staff is responsible for ensuring that all employees receive accurate and timely paychecks and deductions. Accounts Payable is responsible for processing payments to outside vendors and providers in a timely accurate and secure manner. The Finance Department also manages all cash and investments for Sandhills Center.

Reimbursements

The Finance Department Claims division processes all Medicaid and state claims for providers in accordance with Prompt Pay Guidelines.

The Finance Claims division is responsible for daily monitoring of provider claims. Claims Specialist review denial data and work with internal staff and providers to correct errors that cause claims to be denied.
