Pictured is Cutler, who said of the scandal that the show will chronicle: 'It’s the origin tale of how our Government was broken and has never really healed, of the entrenched divide between the red and blue states'
The television series, Cutler says, will begin with Clinton testifying before a grand jury that he had a relationship with Monica Lewinsky and will end with him being found not guilty of perjury.
Cutler discussed with Deadline how the trial has implication's for the era of Donald Trump's presidency.
'It’s the origin tale of how our Government was broken and has never really healed, of the entrenched divide between the red and blue states,' he said.
'It’s the origin story of Hillary as political figure and the origin story of cyber bullying. It’s also a thrilling tale of personal and professional ambition, of enormous hubris in the name of acquiring power, and of personal foibles, all of which nearly brought down a presidency.'
The series will likely feature portrayals of Newt Gingrich (left) and Kenneth Starr (right). Gingrich served as speaker of the house from 1997 to 1998. Starr led an independent investigation into Clinton, first about his real estate dealings and later about his relationship with Lewinsky
Linda Tripp (left) recorded conversations she had with Lewinsky about the intern's relationship with Bill Clinton. Tom DeLay (right) served as the Republican Majority Whip from 1995 through the rest of Clinton's presidency. He served as such until 2003
It is not clear whether the series will make it to the airwaves before Ryan Murphy's planned adaptation.

Before the season, which has not been cast, airs, the series will look at the murder of Gianni Versace in its second season and Hurricane Katrina in its third.
The History Channel series, Cutler says, will focus less on the Monica Lewinsky scandal and more on the impeachment trial against Bill Clinton.
