I had to make a run for it': Bette Midler is 'fine' after falling onstage during Hello, Dolly! performance...due to set pieces colliding

She first hit the stage for the Broadway revival of Hello, Dolly! in March of this year.

And on Thursday, Bette Midler was in the midst of her performance when she fell on stage.

The 71-year-old took to Twitter to announce that she was fine: 'You may hear I was in a little accident on stage tonight.'

Bette added: 'Two set pieces collided, I had to make a run for it, and I fell. But I'm fine.'

The fall occurred just before intermission during the first act.

According to Playbill, a drop was being lowered and collided with a piece of the revolving set the star was standing on.

The website reports that the actress was just about to perform the song 'Before The Parade Passes By' when the accident occurred.

Playbill reported that Shubert Theatre stage hands rushed to the star to help her up and escort her backstage.

They soon announced a delay due to technical difficulties. 

The Hocus Pocus star won her first Tony Award for her portrayal of the character.

She accepted the Tony Award for Best Actress in a musical in June 2017.

Bette will play the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi until January 9. 2018.

Actress Bernadette Peters will take over the role from there; her debut is February 22, 2018.
