They deserved to be remembered! Outrage as Erin Moran and Harry Dean Stanton are left out of the Emmys In Memoriam segment

The 2017 Emmy Awards sparked outrage on Sunday during the In Memoriam segment of the show when actress Erin Moran and actor Harry Dean Stanton, who died on Friday, were forgotten.
Viola Davis came out mid-ceremony to introduce the heartfelt tribute at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
Carrie Fisher, Mary Tyler Moore, Jerry Lewis and other stars that died this past year were honored.
But there were quite a few stars who didn't make the cut, most notably, Moran, Stanton, Dick Gregory and Charlie Murphy.

Davis introduced Christopher Jackson of Broadway's Hamilton who sang Stevie Wonder's iconic song, As, while the names of those the acting world lost adorned the Emmys wall one at a time.
When noteworthy performers - such as Moran, Stanton, Al Jarreau, Sam Shepard, Murphy, and Gregory - weren't featured during the show, several people expressed their outrage on social media as many questioned why these stars were snubbed.
'Erin Moran was on TV for YEARS. Bad move,' actress Chrisanne Eastwood tweeted.
Another user tweeted that the stars 'deserved to be remembered' during the main event.
Stanton, who was most famed for his roles in Alian and The Godfather II, died 'peacefully' at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon at the age of 91.
Happy Days actress, Moran, who died earlier this year in April at 56 years old, was also left off the list. She was best known for playing Joanie Cunningham on the television sitcom Happy Days and its spin-off Joanie Loves Chachi.

Al Jarreau - who was nominated for an Emmy in 1985 for outstanding music and lyrics for Moonlighting - did not appear on the list.
All three stars, were however, featured on the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in memoriam section.
But what angered most folks, was the fact that Roger Ailes, 77, the television executive who built Fox News into the most-watched cable news channel in the US, was featured in the in memoriam segment despite being accused of sexual harassment.
'Beyond shocked Emmy's would honor Ailes in memoriam. What message does it send to women (and men)?' Gabriel Sherman tweeted.
And there were quite a few more stars who were excluded from the Emmy's annual homage.
Sam Shepard - who just appeared on the Netflix's critically acclaimed Bloodline - was absent.

David Letterman's mother, Dorothy Mengering (pictured in 1996), 95, who appeared many times on his late-night talk show, was left out of the segment
Actor Mark La Mura (right), 68, who starred for 25 years on All My Children was also left off the segment

Rapper and actor Common tweeted a picture of the two actors with a caption that read: 'I'll never forget you. I miss you both. #Emmys'.
However, there were several more missing stars that weren't featured in the segment.
David Letterman's mother, Dorothy Mengering, 95, who appeared many times on his late-night talk show, was left out of the segment, along with Mark La Mura, 68, who starred for 25 years on All My Children.

Others included, Richard Anderson, 91, who co-starred in The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, was left out, along with Elena Verdugo, 92, who played nurse Consuelo Lopez on Marcus Welby, M.D.; Deborah Watling, 69, who co-starred as Victoria Waterford on Doctor Who;Marilyn Hall, 90, the Emmy-winning producer of Do You Remember Love; Jared Martin, 75, who played Steven 'Dusty' Farlow on Dallas; and John Cygan, 63, who co-starred on The Commish.
Actress Carrie Fisher and her legendary mother Debbie Reynolds - who died one day after her daughter - were honored.
Joining this esteemed group were Martin Landau, Bill Paxton, John Hurt, Grant Tinker, Don Rickles, Glen Campbell, Miguel Ferrer, Zsa Zsa Gabor, John Hurt, Robert Osborne, Florence Henderson, John Heard, Mike Connors, Chuck Barris, Brad Grey, Powers Booth, Alan Thicke, Jay Thomas, Norman Brokaw, and Robert Vaughn.
Stuntman John Bernecker - who was killed in July on the set of The Walking Dead - was also mentioned.
