Whoever knew there was so much cash in being a girl-about-town?

'It-girl' Alexa Chung stands to make a staggering £3.4 million after putting the company into which she channelled her earnings, The Last Battalion Ltd, into voluntary liquidation.

As part of closing down her business, the 33-year-old model, fashion designer and TV presenter has submitted a declaration of solvency to Companies House in which it reports the huge estimated surplus.

Her assets comprise £1,000 in cash, £2.7 million in investments and £791,000 due from an American partnership.

Chung, who set up The Last Battalion in 2009, 'curated' fashion ranges for M&S, with the Seventies-style tan suede skirt she promoted in 2015 becoming the High Street giant's biggest hit for years.

Enjoyed a tennis match at your local council courts? Former Spice Girl Geri Horner went one better at the weekend.

'I played my first ever tennis match and, forgive me if I sound a fancy show off, it was at Buckingham Palace!' the 45-year-old singer boasts to her fans online.

She took on former British No 1 Andrew Castle as part of a Prince's Trust campaign and enthuses: 'I didn't win, but it felt good to go out of my comfort zone and I met lovely people.'

George VI used to test himself there against three-times Wimbledon champion Fred Perry.

Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher is known for his oversized parkas teamed with a surly scowl. His 18-year-old son Lennon, however, prefers a more elegant overcoat.

Stylish Lennon — whose mother is Liam's first wife, the actress Patsy Kensit — was at Burberry's London Fashion Week show, sporting one of the label's slim-fitting traditional trench coats.

Lennon, who is studying to be an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, was joined by Iris Law, 16-year-old daughter of film star Jude Law and former model Sadie Frost.

Also watching the show were supermodels Naomi Campbell, 47, and 25-year-old Cara Delevingne, who struck an androgynous look with her cropped blonde haircut and striking eye make-up.

Kelly Macdonald stars opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in new BBC1 drama The Child In Time as a mother whose little girl disappears in a supermarket.

In real life, the 41-year-old Glaswegian is suffering her own heartache.

Macdonald, who shot to fame as Ewan McGregor's girlfriend in Trainspotting, has split up with her husband of 14 years, Dougie Payne, bassist with rock band Travis.

'It's very sad, but they were spending too much time apart,' a friend of the actress tells me. Her publicist confirms the couple separated several months ago and says they 'are united in parenting their two children'.

The actress moved back to Glasgow three years ago, having previously been based in New York, and admitted that she was struggling to juggle her career with her family life.

'It's really hard,' she said in January. 'The travelling is difficult. Any actress I know who is a mother never feels she's getting it right.'
