They say good things come in threes.

And that was certainly true for Adriana Lima as she stepped out in a trio of stunning outfits while making a series of promotional appearances in New York City on Wednesday.

The model, 36, found three different ways to showcase her supermodel physique while out and about, as she admitted her first career choice had been to become a nun when she was growing up.

The Victoria's Secret Angel put on a leggy display as she left The Today Show studios in the Big Apple, after joining the hosts for a chat to promote her new television show.

Adriana displayed her perfect pins in an asymmetric pale blue dress, which clung to her hourglass shape.

Elegant matching ankle strap heels completed her simple but head-turning sartorial choice, which may have been less welcome had her first choice career in a convent been more successful.

Adriana told Harry Connick Jr, on his chat show on Wednesday, that she was so shy as a youngster that she wanted to be a nun.

She was asked: 'So you had another career in mind before modeling. I want to know what it is?' and replied, 'Yes, I wanted to be a nun.'

Connick Jnr exclaimed: 'A nun? Wow. You were raised Catholic?'

'I was raised Catholic my school years were in Catholic school. I was very shy, I was like I don’t see myself having a boyfriend, not even talking to boys I was that shy.

'So I thought of that, this is what its going to be and I’m here today as a model,' she revealed.

The Brazilian bombshell wore her glossy raven tresses loose in waves, with a center parting framing her pretty face.

Adriana's bee-strung pout was artfully made-up with an apricot hue, framing her broad smile.

As well as her powder blue outfit, the model was also spotted flaunting her very toned figure in skin tight lycra leggings.

She looked sporty in the ensemble, and carried a black leather biker jacket over her arm.

Later, she wowed in another asymmetric outfit as she arrived at the Build Studios in the city for another appearance.

The mother-of-two wore a white one-shouldered top, which dropped at the back, over black cropped cigarette trousers - the Beacon pant by Zhivago - adding black heels completing her style.

The Brazilian model might have been shy when she was younger, but now she has no problem talking to the opposite sex.

Adriana is now dating Turkish Author Metin Hara, 35, who she was first spotted lip locking while on vacation in July.

The model and her new beau have been taking things to the next level as Adriana posted an Instagram photo of the two, with the caption: 'Once more you made me the happiest. My smile is the happiest with you forever.'

Adriana was promoting her new competition series, American Beauty Star, which she hosts and executive produces.

American Beauty Star - which premieres on Thursday on Lifetime - will see hair and makeup experts compete for the winning prize of $50,000 and a spot on a Teen Vogue editorial spread.

'We have challenges from makeovers, to a beauty pop-up bar, red carpet look,' she recently told ET Online.

During her appearance on Harry, Adriana also discussed her two daughters, and how they're unaware of her fame.

The model raises Valentina, seven, and Sienna, four, with her ex-husband, Serbian basketball pro Marko Jarić, 38.

She explained: 'You know it’s so funny because I never talk about it but I work out a lot, I go to the gym its part of my routine, they come sometimes with me so they know when I’m working out its to get ready for work.

'One day we were shopping in a shopping small and we cross in front of Victoria’s Secret store and my picture was in front and they stopped and they were like, "Mommy that’s you".

'I was like wow. I would not think they would relate the both of us but they recognize its amazing. I do all the mom stuff we got to the park, I cook, I love to cook.'
