Celebs Go Dating episode AXED as it is revealed that 'one of the contestants had been abusive during a previous relationship'

An episode of Channel 4's Celebs Go Dating was axed last week because it was discovered that 'one of the contestants had been abusive during a previous relationship'.

Viewers were left perplexed after Friday night's scheduled episode was suddenly pulled and replaced with a Come Dine With Me special of Made In Chelsea.

The show, which features an array of celebrity faces looking to find love with a civilian, was said to have been pulled 'after concerns were raised about one of the daters featured in the episode', according to The Sun.

The source revealed that 'It’s claimed the individual had been abusive during a previous relationship, and show bosses decided to take it off air citing "editorial reasons"'.

The female stars of the show include Made In Chelsea's Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford, and Ex On The Beach's Charlotte Dawson.

The most recent contestant to join is Courtney Stodden, who rose to fame after marrying actor Doug Hutchinson in 2011, when she was just 16 years old to his 50 years of age.

The male hopefuls include TOWIE star Bobby Norris and James 'Arg' Argent, personality Calum Best, and former X Factor contestant Frankie Cocozza.

Celebs Go Dating launched last year, with Eden Blackman and Nadia Essex the respected dating experts, alongside lovable receptionist, Tom Read Wilson.

Charlotte famously tried to find romance on Ex On The Beach where she was said to have engaged in a threesome with Geordie Shore's Gaz Beadle and Olivia Walsh.

The 24-year-old daughter of the late Les Dawson then sparked engagement rumours with rugby hunk Matt Sarsfield, but their romance came to a clattering halt after which she was said to have felt like her 'heart was ripped out'.

Arg took part in the series following his staggering weight loss and stint in a Thai rehab earlier this year to overcome 'cycle of depression'.

Arg shot to fame in TOWIE's 2010 inauguration, and famously enjoyed an on-off relationship with Lydia Bright - who recently went public with her new man, car garage owner Lee Cronin.

Axed X Factor star Frankie was booted off the show for allegedly boasting of snorting cocaine and for his wild child antics behind the scenes.

In January 2012, he made a reported £30,000 for his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, during which he enjoyed a now infamous dip in a hot tub with an intoxicated Denise Welch - who kissed him in shock scenes.

Rounding up the line up is Calum Best, who famously lashed out at Coleen Nolan during this year's Celebrity Big Brother for calling him a 'one-night' man.

Celebrity Love Island winner Calum - famed for his way with the ladies - recently sparked romance rumours with American singer named Lindsay Lou.

Calum's last confirmed romance was with model Lindsay Pelas, who he split with in the Spring.
