Australia's most celebrated actor is voting 'yes' for same-sex marriage rights.

Hugh Jackman took to Twitter on Wednesday, sharing a passionate message of support for the gay community's hopes for reform following the postal plebiscite.

'We believe all Australians deserve to be treated equally under the law that's why Deb & I are voting YES,' the 48-year-old wrote.

The post also confirmed his wife Debora-lee Furness, 61, would be voting 'yes,' on the forms being circulated by the Australian Bureau of Statistics this month.

His wife of 21-years also retweeted her hubby's message, which contained the hashtags 'equality' and 'love.'

The Logan star was flooded with messages of support for his stance, with one fan writing: 'Thanks mate we need some Wolverine on our side.'

Having been up for less than 24-hours, the post has already surged to 16,000 likes and 2,900 shares.

Hugh is the latest Australian celebrity to throw their support behind the 'yes' vote.

He joins the likes of Ian Thorpe, Megan Gale, Margot Robbie, Bindi Irwin and even Schapelle Corby in publicly announcing their advocacy.

The results on the nationwide, optional postal survey will be announced on November 15. 

American TV host Ellen Degeneres has also urged Australian to vote yes via Twitter and Instagram.
