Gaining some perspective? Wayne Rooney party girl Laura Simpson escapes drink-drive scandal with trip to Spain... as Coleen is spotted without her wedding ring AGAIN

She was reportedly branded a 'fame-seeking slapper' by Coleen Rooney and was forced to sell her car due to strangers 'chanting' at her at traffic lights.

So it comes as no surprise that Laura Simpson, the woman at the centre of Wayne Rooney's drink-drive scandal, was keen to escape the furore with a trip abroad.

The 29-year-old, who claimed to have 'kissed and cuddled' Wayne, went incognito as she arrived at Mallorca airport in Spain and headed quickly to her hotel.

Simpson seemed keen to fly under the radar, hiding behind a pair of large sunglasses and an oversized trilby.

She opted for a summery ensemble in a multi-coloured playsuit and black fur slides, teamed with a denim jacket.

Laura appeared to be in low spirits as she strode out of the airport, catching the eye with her rainbow-hued suitcase.

Simpson has been at the centre of a media storm since meeting Rooney on September 1.

They enjoyed a night of drinking in Cheshire, after which the footballer was caught three times over the legal limit while driving her Volkswagen Beetle.

Just days ago, Simpson exchanged flirty Twitter messages with former boxing champ Ricky Hatton, 38.

The sporting star asked for her number on the social media site, prompting her to jokingly hit back that she wasn't interested as she prefers footballers instead.

It comes as Laura took to social media to announce she was going to sell her VW Beetle because she gets so many chants from 'white van men at traffic lights'.

She wrote on Twitter: 'Need a new car cba being sang chants by the world and his wife's white van men when I'm at traffic lights.'

Rooney was pulled over by police during a night out with mother-of-one Ms Simpson, and later admitted drink driving at Stockport Magistrates' Court.

Meanwhile Rooney's embattled wife Coleen, who is pregnant with the couple's fourth child, has not worn her wedding ring since her husband's arrest.

She was spotted in Alderley Edge on Thursday without her £450,000 wedding and engagement rings as she ran errands in her activewear.

Earlier this week, Wayne apologised for his 'unforgivable lack of judgement' as he was banned from driving for two years and given 100 hours' community service.

The Everton striker was handed a 24 month driving ban and given 100 hours' community service as part of a 12-month community order imposed at Stockport Magistrates' Court.

In his statement he said: 'I want publicly to apologise for my unforgivable lack of judgment in driving while over the legal limit. It was completely wrong.

'I have already said sorry to my family, my manager and chairman and everyone at Everton FC. Now I want to apologise to all the fans and everyone else who has followed and supported me throughout my career.

'Of course I accept the sentence of the court and hope that I can make some amends through my community service.'
