Fergie puts on a defiant display in shell suit emblazoned with 'woman' as she steps out during Paris Fashion Week following split from Josh Duhamel

She announced her split from beau of eight years Josh Duhamel just weeks ago. 

But Fergie appeared in good spirits as she left her hotel in France during Paris Fashion Week on Thursday. 

The mother-of-one, 42, worked sports-luxe in a shell suit emblazoned with the word 'woman' as she headed for a day out in the fashion capital.

Wearing her hair in a high sleek bun, she covered her pretty face with a pair of oversized sunglasses, upping the glamour of her ensemble. 

Opting for relaxed chic, Fergie slipped coordinated her fitted black hoodie with a pair of matching tracksuit bottoms, hiding her famous figure. 

And dressing up her casual sports co-ord, she added a pair of heels to the mix, opting for a large practical tote bag.

The former Black Eyed Peas star was seen getting into a waiting car, avoiding the attention of excited nearby fans.  

Fergie and Josh, who share four-year-old Axl Jack,announced their split after eight years of marriage in mid September.

Josh and Fergie haven't been seen together for some time, so it is unclear when they split, but they did celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary together in January.

The songstress and her 44-year-old actor husband revealed in a statement they had split with 'love and respect.'

They said: 'With absolute love and respect, we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year.

'To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.'

The pair started dating in 2004 and tied the knot five years later in January 2009. 

During a press conference for hew new album Double Dutchess, which earned her the top spot on the music charts last week, Fergie opened up about her split from Josh.

Speaking on the Today Show, Hoda Kotb asked: 'I know people have seen the headlines about you and your life, we just wanna know how you're doing.'

And keeping it brief, a brave Fergie responded: 'I'm doing really well. I'm surrounded by so much love so thank you for asking.
