Evergreen Dame Joan Collins is 84 and keen to show how much work is needed to make her look her age.

Yesterday, she shared a picture from the set of her new film, Gerry, in which she plays Hilda, a lonely old woman who has bags under her eyes and wears a drab brown dress with a grey cardie and white ankle socks.

Next to the image she posted a snap of her at a charity ball on Saturday night, wearing an elegant black gown.

‘Hilda became Joan in 25 minutes!’ she boasted. ‘Glum to glam.’
