Some of the training is mandatory and must be done at a driving school. This includes topics that are difficult to learn on your own or in which professional instruction is vital.
At the end of Step 2, and again at the end of Step 3, you will have a mandatory 1-hour evaluation lesson at the driving school. These two sessions are intended to help you achieve the objectives at each level.
In order to obtain a driving licence you must
- have been resident in Norway for at least 6 months,
- meet the age requirements, and submit an application for a driving licence,
- meet the health requirements, and have an approved record of good conduct from the police the first time you apply for a driving licence.
Training for professional drivers
If you want to become a professional driver, you will need to take mandatory training for professional drivers once you have a driving licence.
