The Swedish royals indulged in a spot of rough and tumble today when they took part in an event celebrating the great outdoors.

Crown Princess Victoria, 40, and her husband Prince Daniel, 44, took part in a series of assault course-style activities in Stockholm's Hagaparken (Haga Park).

The activity session was organised as part of the Swedish Outdoor Association's 125th anniversary celebrations.

Founded in 1892, the non-governmental organisation aims to promote an 'outdoor lifestyle' among Swedes in a bid to 'further happiness and well-being in society'.

Victoria, who is heir-apparent to Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf, was a world away from her usual polished self in a pair of baggy jeans, a trendy bomber jacket and Adidas trainers.

The mother-of-two let her natural beauty shine through as she pulled her hair back into a low bun.

The famously laid-back royal could be seen joining youngsters in a number of activities including walking a tightrope and examining pine cones.

Her husband, meanwhile, was far from prepared for the day's activities, kitted out in a smart blue tie, tweed blazer and beige chinos.

The organisation's motto is I Ur Och Skur (come rain or shine), according to its website.

Victoria married Daniel, her former personal trainer, in a glittering ceremony at Stockholm Cathedral in 2010.

They are parents to five-year-old Princess Estelle, Duchess of Östergötland, and Prince Oscar, Duke of Skåne, who turned one in March.
