Expecting again: Cash Warren has spoken exclusively about his excitement for a third child with Jessica Alba (wearing a HATCH Layla fringe dress)
The producer and co-founder of burgeoning apparel line Pair of Thieves added: 'I get to enjoy it all. I want my cake and eat it all, damn it! I’m impressed [that] she can do a million things. She always seems to multitask exceptionally well.'
As The Honest Company entrepreneur Jessica faces the latter stages of her pregnancy, Cash - son of esteemed television actor Michael Warren - revealed that the couple have yet to discover if a boy of girl will be joining their brood.
'I think we’ll wait and see what the surprise is,' he told MailOnline. 'Based on my friends who all have three kids who are all of the same gender, I’m imagining ours probably will go the same way. But who knows?
Happy couple: He says there's no secret to a happy 10 year marriage to Jessica, but they definitely respect each other
'I’d love to have a little guy in the house to hang out with. But I don’t mind being the only guy as well. It’s kind of fun. But I’m more the whipping boy, if you will. I get s**t from all directions!'
With their being a gap of a few years between their youngest child and their soon-to-arrive baby, Cash has admitted that the whole process of getting ready for a new arrival feels like a first-time experience.
'Life has sped up on our end, I feel like,' he said. 'When you have kids, it really feels like time really is flying. It’s hard to believe that nine years ago is when Honor was born. But the time is flying by. I think this go-around, it still feels just as new in a way.
'I think every week, we’re kind of like reading up on blogs on the size of the baby in her tummy. We’re going through it all over again... It’s been quite a few years since Jess has been pregnant. So it feels new all over again.'
The couple now have two young girls, so Cash has drawn on his own father's influence in helping him to be a 'hands on dad'.
Happy families: Cash and Jessica are already parents to Honor, nine, (left) and Haven, six (right)
'I try to act in a way that would make him happy,' he said. 'And so I try to be as helpful as possible.
'She might not say I’m not helpful at all, but between us I think I’m really helpful! This one, she hasn’t had too many cravings like with the others.'
The girls are now expecting to big sisters and he says they're both 'really excited about it.'
'Now they’ll be able to help out and I think that they’re both really looking forward to having a little baby sibling in the house. They seem to be happy We’ll see what happens when the baby arrives. But as of now, everything’s looking good.
'That’s why the age gap is kind of cool, because they both gotten enough attention over the last few years. So it’s time for them to share anyhow. And three is definitely it! No more!'
Cute twosome: Cash admits that he's learned how to be a hands-on dad from his own father
The duo both share the same letter of their first name, and even though it wasn't intentional at the start, Cash says there may be a theme with the baby monikers.
'When Jess was pregnant with Honor, a friend of ours gave us that name. And we loved it. And when she was pregnant with Haven, a separate friend gave us the name.
'We weren’t even thinking of H’s, to tell you the truth. But now we’re kind of like, maybe we might have to name the third one an H name. I grew up with a really unique name.
'My parents named me Cash, at a time probably when there weren’t many out there. And I enjoyed growing up named Cash. I think it’s fun to have a name that stands out a bit.'
The duo will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary next year after meeting on set where he was a production assistant.
Expecting again: He is happy that his children will be slightly older when they become big sisters again
'I don’t really have any secrets [to a happy marriage]' he concedes, 'Because I think everything is [achieved when] you out in hard work. I think one of the things that Jessica and I have that is pretty cool is that we have a lot of respect for each other.
'And we really do value the other’s opinion and thoughts. And so I feel that when you’re building a relationship and building a family, it’s like respect is one of those foundation pillars that sets you up for happiness.'
On his parenting and discipline, he says: 'I think I would be the softie. I’ll take that role. I’m really nice until I’m not. And so I think we both have a strong sense of [discipline].
Pair of Thieves: Cash has launched his own apparel line with friends from middle school and college but says juggling work and home life is not so hard when you give you children 100 per cent focus at home
Boxer briefs: 'One of your socks always goes missing and it’s like, who steals that sock? And so we just thought pair of thieves was just a fun play on the kind of thievery that takes place in your dryer'
'We’re not total pushovers. We expect them to behave and act right and correctly. And so we hold them accountable for that. We both have that disciplinarian kind of trait in our blood.'
On balancing work and home life, he added: 'Dads are active and involved in home lives as well. I think that the idea is that when I go home, I really do turn off all of my devices. I don’t check email over the weekends.
'I do a really good job of ignoring work when I’m at home. And fortunately my wife does the same. So when we’re with our kids, we’re really 100 per cent with our kids. You can’t do anything half-assed. And parenting is certainly that as well. And the work/life balance is really just about being present in the moment.'
Business focused: Actor Idris Elba is just one of the names Cash has set his sights on working with when it comes to Pair Of Thieves
Cash founded his apparel line, Pair of Thieves, with an old friend from middle school, Alan Stuart, as well as an old UCLA buddy David Ehrenberg.
He says of the store: 'We really set to just to build a basics brand and make products that could perform for everyday use and something that really separated itself from the plethora of options that we have when we go to stores.
'So the goal, really, was to go to better [crew stock] and that just lead us into underwear and undershirts. And we’re having a blast.'
And the reason behind the name? Cash continued: 'One of your socks always goes missing and it’s like, who steals that sock? And so we just thought pair of thieves was just a fun play on the kind of thievery that takes place in your dryer.
'And then it just seemed to resonate and stick. And then the logo was actually designed by one of our designers who lives in Bordeaux. And we just took the California bear, because we’re all from Los Angeles, and added a little mask to make him sneaky.
Business people: Jessica also has her own business, The Honest Company
Actor Idris Elba is just one of the names Cash has set his sights on working with when it comes to Pair Of Thieves.
His inspiration comes from his 'much cooler' design team who are always 'pushing the boundaries on kid of the designs and patterns'.
'I’m pretty basic. I’m pretty normcore. I guess socks have been traditionally the only item that I’ve worn that kind of are a little bit brighter and funkier.
'But I look to kind of clean guys who are just clean dressed in a classic style. Perhaps a bit of beach in there just because I’m from the coast.'
And on the destination of the business, Cash says international, explaining: 'I guess if you would’ve chatted with me five or 10 years ago, I wouldn’t guess that I’d be in the apparel industry.
'But one thing I did always want to do and I’ve always been fascinated with is building a brand. Anybody can make product. Commodities are what they are.
'But building a brand that really stands for something beyond the product is something that always intrigued me. And I think we’re trying to do that every day here at Pair of Thieves. We’re trying to really build it into a lifestyle brand that stands for something beyond just the products we make.'
The apparel has proved to be such a huge success in the US that it has now been made available in London - and at one of the English capital's most prestigious stores.
'We have always wanted to go international, and got the introduction to Selfridges - they were into it, and we were so excited! Selfridges is such an iconic retailer so we feel it’s a huge win,' enthused Cash of his huge UK debut.
