Make-up free Julia Roberts cuts a casually chic figure as she enjoys low-key shopping trip with daughter Hazel in Malibu... after confessing to being a 'selfish brat' at the start of her fame

She has enjoyed a stellar career in the film industry, after shooting to fame in iconic movie Pretty Woman back in 1990.

And while she is showing no signs of slowing down just yet, Julia Roberts was seen taking a break from the movie sets she is so used to and enjoying some downtime with her 12-year-old daughter Hazel in Malibu on Monday.

The actress, 49, made sure to flaunt her youthful looks for the low-key outing, as she chose to forgo her make-up and instead showcase her natural beauty as she shopped.

Cutting a casual figure, Julia looked simply sensational as she flaunted her age-defying frame in a pretty grey sweatshirt that came complete with floral white embroidery across the chest and shoulders.

It boasted puff-ball sleeves and made for a loose fit, with Julia pairing the garment with a pair of complementing jeans that sheathed her slender pins and featured turn-up hems.

She donned a pair of slip-on shoes on her feet and hid behind a stylish pair of over-sized shades, as she stepped out in the sunshine.

Positively glowing, the film star wore her lightened tresses down to fall past her shoulders in tousled waves, parted in the centre. She slung a tote bag over one shoulder and clutched onto an embellished envelope bag in one hand.

Julia was flanked by her mini-me daughter Hazel, as they headed to the supermarket together.

Her low-key appearance comes after Julia candidly confessed that she had been a 'selfish brat' when she first started out in the acting industry. Ahead of her 50th birthday next month, the Runaway Bride star admitted in an interview with Harper's Bazaar that she was very much her 'own priority' in her youth.

Julia has carved a hugely successful career over the years, having starred in the likes of Pretty Woman, Erin Brockovich and Steel Magnolias and was just 21 years of age when she first shot to fame.

Julia recently saw her stellar career celebrated on The Late Late Show, as host James Corden and the beauty re-created a number of her famous moments onscreen, as part of the show's Role Call skit from Notting Hill, to Runway Bride, Mona Lisa Smile and that Pretty Woman scene where Vivian calls out a shop attendant for refusing to wait on her.

Other films referenced included Sleeping With The Enemy, My Best Friend's Wedding and her new release Wonder set to hit the big screen in November.

Ahead of the sketch, Corden had teased: 'It will be a celebration of the film career of the one, the only, Julia Roberts,' before turning to Julia and saying: 'Are you ready to do this?'

She replied: 'As ready as I'm going to get!'
