Is that you Nicole? Kidman looks unrecognisable as she appears on set in blonde wig and unflattering leopard print top while filming Boy Erased in Atlanta

She's always been known for her flawless and glamorous looks.

But on Tuesday, Nicole Kidman looked a world away from her usual self as she stepped out on set while filming Boy Erased in Atlanta, wearing a blonde wig and unflattering outfit.

Dressed in a leopard print top, baggy black pants and flat brogues, the 50-year-old star was almost unrecognisable.

As she strolled around set, the wife of Keith Urban had an umbrella handler shield her from sprinkles as the weather took a downturn.

Clearly having a good time on set, the beauty smiled broadly.

Nicole's film will follow 'the son of a baptist preacher [who] is forced to participate in a church-supported gay conversion program' and also stars Russell Crowe, Joel Edgerton (who also directs), Flea, Cherry Jones, Jason Davis and Emily Hinkler.

The filming comes after the star recalled how she almost gave up acting after the birth of her and husband Keith's daughter Sunday Rose in 2008.

But, thanks to her mother Janelle Ann's persuasive advice, the Academy award-winning actress decided not to quit Hollywood.

'I went through a period, particularly after I gave birth to Sunday, where I was pretty much done. I was pretty much going to finish up my career,' she told Today.

'I was just moving towards that place and then my mother [Janelle] said to me, 'I don't think you should retire or give up. I don't think that's your path.'

She continued: 'She said to me, 'Everything in your life has always been hard won, you have never been given things on a platter. You had to audition and work and really... in terms of career-wise, it was a long, hard road.' She goes, 'You don't just abandon it.'

Earlier this year, The Aquaman star received an Oscar nod for her role in the smash-hit film, Lion.

Nicole also recently garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success for her role in the hit HBO drama, Big Little Lies.

She has been married to Keith for 11 years, and the couple share two daughters Sunday Rose, nine, and Faith Margaret, seven.

She also shares two adopted children with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, Connor, 22, and Isabella Cruise, 24.
