Strictly Come Dancing: 'Katya has to cut holes in his dancing shows to relieve him of pain': Joe McFadden left in agony with swollen feet after energetic rehearsals

He is hoping to impress judges with his cha-cha-cha on Saturday night as he competes on Strictly Come Dancing.

But Joe McFadden, 42, has been left in agony after his toes ballooned following his energetic rehearsals with his dance partner Katya Jones this week.

Of the Holby City star's injury, a source told The Sun: 'Katya needs him to get back to training and practice their dance so to help him, she has cut holes in his dancing shows to relieve him of the pressure.'

It is thought the actor's Cuban heels are the culprit for Joe's swollen feet. 

The insider added: 'His big toes are getting squashed and hurt in training and he is in a lot of pain while doing his routine this week.'

But with Saturday night's show fast approaching, the star has had to continue training to make sure his cha-cha-cha is up to scratch.

The dance partners were pictured getting into the rhythm of the dance in a studio on Thursday, but the television hunk has made sure he is well rested between vigorous dance practices. 

In recent weeks, Joe and his co-star The Saturdays' singer Mollie King, 30, sparked romance rumours when they were seen getting cosy behind the scenes of the show.

But the television hunk dismissed the claims as he insisted he didn't have time for a romance.

Of the rumours, he told The Daily Record: 'I don't know when anyone would have the time for romance, to be perfectly honest.

'I get home at night and I'm exhausted. All I can do is get myself something to eat and then fall into bed.

'Sometimes I have time for a hot bath, but that’s about it. I can’t imagine having the energy for anything else.'
