    Trauma's chilled-out middle sags, but "Revenge," her bad-romance duet with Eminem, is an early shot of energy; Max Martin and Shellback's homage to Dr. Dre's skip-step beats may be too on the nose, but Em's rhymes nicely recall a time when even lunatics rode bright hooks.

    P!nk's new album may be more mellow than her previous albums but I feel it is refreshing because so much of her work is very upbeat the itsP!nk's new album may be more mellow than her previous albums but I feel it is refreshing because so much of her work is very upbeat the its nice to see her take a new path with Beautiful Trauma. An even though most the album is more mellow and full of ballads some of the stand out tracks on Beautiful Trauma are the title track, Revenge with Eminem, But we Lost It, Barbies, Where We Go, Whatever You Want, and of course the hit single What About Us.… Expand

    I've been waiting 5 years for this record, and I can say that Pink is absolutely one of my favorite artists because of records like this. InI've been waiting 5 years for this record, and I can say that Pink is absolutely one of my favorite artists because of records like this. In her discography, it's absolutely different, and people can tell sonically, but she has aged so well musically. Her sound continues to diversify, and that's why her career has laster her 17 years. The idea of a "beautiful trauma" was, in my opinion, executed in a very articulate way, and I love her brutal honesty. This album deserves the recognition that Pink has deserved her whole career, but has evaded her for whatever reason. I'm so excited to see her out on tour this year as well!… Expand

    Even though the pre-released singles and buzz tracks promised a huge record ('What About Us' and 'Beautiful Trauma' are just gorgeous songs,Even though the pre-released singles and buzz tracks promised a huge record ('What About Us' and 'Beautiful Trauma' are just gorgeous songs, and Max Martin-produced 'Whatever You Want' is just old-school kick-ass P!nk), the album comes off as a bit of disappointment. A lot of tracks felt like fillers ('Secrets' and 'For Now' are not exactly essential to the record), and a lot of the others felt enjoyable, yet forgettable right after the first listen ('Where We Go' and 'Barbies'). The Eminem-assisted 'Revenge' felt annoying at first, but it is a grower. However, there are beautifully-sung and produced ballads to make up for that: 'Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken' is just beautiful, and closer 'You Get My Heart' is P!nk reminding us that she is, before anything else, a vocalist.
    The album is disappointing, but P!nk's persona will always legendary, and it shows on every single song.    … Expand
