Dakota Johnson stocked up on some serious reading materials on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old actress was pictured in the West Village in New York and stopped by a book store where she picked up three tomes.

The daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson was dressed down in a red graphic-print sweater with Sinead O'Connor on the front which she teamed with cropped black pants.

She emerged from the store with three books; Lemn Sissay‘s Gold from the Stone: New and Selected Poems, David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest, and a Truman Capote work.

The bookworm wore leather loafers as well as some stylish sunglasses and wore her hair loose around her shoulders.

The actress was later seen heading to her hotel in a different outfit still carrying the books.

This time the Social Network star donned cropped jeans, a white sweater and a checked coat.

The Fifty Shades Darker star is in-between projects at the moment having completed filming on the third installment titled Fifty Shades Freed.

She also just wrapped filming on adventure flick The Peanut Butter Falcon with Shia LaBeouf as well as fantasy horror Suspiria with Chloë Grace Moretz and Tilda Swinton.
