And Kathy Griffin did just that while weighing in on the Harvey Weinsten assault scandal.

The outspoken 56-year-old criticized Hollywood heavyweights George Clooney and Matt Damon over the pair's claims that they didn't know the extent of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein's behaviour.

'Really? No. I don't think so - I can't imagine those guys didn't know,' Kathy said on Tuesday's The Project.

'I knew, and I'm not even in the movie business.' 

During an appearance on Good Morning America this week, Hollywood actors George and Matt said they knew Weinstein was a 'bully' and 'womaniser,' but were unaware of the extent of his criminal behavior.

Kathy went on to discuss an encounter she had with 65-year-old Harvey at an event for legendary director Quentin Tarantino.

'One time Weinstein was sitting next to me and - I'm not hot enough to sexually assault - just know that's his mindset,' she said.

'I remember him bragging about his wife who worked for House of Balenciaga, and he said: 'Maybe my wife could dress you sometime' for the Emmys or something like that.

She continued: 'I remember wondering if that was one of the ways he would ensnare some young actresses.'
