Elegant in emerald: Dianna Agron dazzles in a plunging green beaded gown at Novitiate screening party in New York

She plays a nun in her new film Novitiate.

But Dianna Agron was worlds away from her religious alter-ego as she attended a screening of the movie, hosted by Miu Miu and The Cinema Society, at the Landmark at 57 West in New York City on Thursday night.

The actress, 31, ditched her nun's habit in favor of a stunning plunging emerald green Prada gown with dazzling gold bead detailing and salmon pink silk straps.

Look sensational in emerald green like Dianna

Dianna Agron looked like an emerald goddess at the red carpet premiere for her latest production in Novitiate.

This custom made number copied a Grecian silhouette with it's alluring plunging neckline and pleated maxi skirt. Embellished with glittery sequins throughout, the bedazzlement around her waist showcased her lithe figure.

We love that this dress was tethered to her body by over-the-top feminine pink velvet ribbons running down her back for a flirty, statement finish.

Sadly, we won't be able to get our hands on this bespoke piece made for the blonde beauty but we CAN recreate her look with the next best thing from the virtual high street. That being said, take a look below at the ultra-glam options that we've pulled together by the likes of ASOS, Fame & Partners and Capulet!

The Leftovers actress Margaret Qualley - the daughter of Andie MacDowell - wore a black strapless dress and high heels for the event.

In the film, Qualley plays Cathleen, a 17-year-old who feels called to become a nun and joins a convent with a fervently traditional Mother Superior, played by Melissa.

Julianne plays Cathleen's skeptical mother, while Dianna plays one of the new postulant's convent confrères, Sister Mary Grace.

The film is set in the 1950s, amid the reforms of the Second Vatican Council - which Mother Superior objects to on the grounds 'the church is perfect the way it is.'

On Thursday, Agron spoke candidly about her own religious upbringing at an AOL BUILD series session.

'I do have a religious background,' Dianna told the BUILD Series. 'It was much more structured as a child. I was raised Jewish. I was Bat Mitzvahed.

'It was very much my identity, in many good ways and bad. I lived in San Antonio for a few years, and I was really badly teased while living in Texas for religion.'

She shared: 'So, it was always kind of this confusing thing, because, you know, I had the family, who would tell me our legacy with it and our history, and then I had schoolmates, that I was made to feel shame for it.

'And then I moved to San Francisco at a young age, and then it was just like: "Oh, it's just a nothing thing. Like, cool, you're a Jew." And I was like: "Okay!"'

Dianna remembered: 'You know, but, like, there were moments in my life where there were policemen outside of my temple and I thought that was a normal thing.'

'So, as I've grown older, and as I've traveled, and as, you know, I've talked to so many people in so many different cultures about what their beliefs are, I think it's been important for me to understand that I definitely have faith.

'It's not necessarily typical or, you know, reflective of how some of my family feel, or anything like that.

'I went to Israel last year for the first time, and spent a lot of time there, kind of learning the ins and outs and everything, as much as I could.

'So, I do think it's fascinating, and I do think that my next question will be when I have kids: What is the story I'm gonna take them on, and how I'm gonna involve them? I think it's really interesting, and I'm not there yet.'

Dianna tied the knot with Mumford & Sons banjo player Winston Marshall, 28, in Morocco in October 2015.
