Donning a black coat with fluorescent orange detailing, the Broadchurch star looked miles away from his typical suave appearance as he filmed scenes for the Terry Pratchett adaptation.

Good Omens is based on the late fantasy author's book, which tells the story of angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley who team up to stop the birth of Satan.

Starring opposite Michael Sheen, David plays the demon Crawley in the series, and this is perfectly personified by his fierce red locks and muted ensembles.

Davis is no stranger to playing the suave villain, taking on the role of Kilgrave in the Netflix series Jessica Jones, and this anti-hero role seems to bare some resemblance to that character.

The actor is most well known for his role as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, and it seemed he may have used his TARDIS to get travel back to the 1930s, as a classic vintage car could be seen on the set.

As David was seen filming on the London set, he rocked a stylish combo of skintight leather trousers, a black jacket and t-shirt making his red tresses stand out all the more.

Show-runner Neil Gaiman couldn't contain his excitement as he took to social media to share some details about the series.

He wrote on Twitter: 'They are amazing. This is them in the opening scenes, 11 years ago, in St James's Park. David and Michael, demon & angel.' (sic)

The series is co-produced by BBC Two and Amazon. With filming just starting, the adaptation will not air until 2019.

Miranda Richardson, Jack Whitehall and Michael McKean are also starring in the series alongside David and Michael.
