If you've got a Garbage Pail Kid or Thunder Wings Lion-O stuffed away in a dusty old box in your attic, you might want to dig it out of storage - because it could be worth thousands of pounds.

Go Social rounded up ten popular toys from the 1980s that could earn you a small fortune, and are urging anyone who still has one squirreled away to try and sell their childhood playthings.

While a Savage He-man will earn you around £80, according to the site, if you've got at set of Real Ghostbusters Figurines lying around, you could amass over £1,000 for all four.

£150: Strawberry Shortcake was originally a greetings card range in the 1970s but became one of the most sought-after dolls' houses. The Berry Happy Home dollhouse cost around £30 when it came out in 1983 and had six rooms with characters and furniture you could buy for each one

£200: She-Ra and Swift Wind Action Figurines were released in 1985 and cost around £15. Every little girl wanted to get her hands on one and the plastic toy with bubblegum pink hair could fetch you £200 today

£600: The G.I. Joe General Vehicle, which was on shop shelves in 1990, had Major Storm and also a Locust helicopter. The toy, which was discontinued in 1992, could now be worth £600

£1,000: The groundbreaking Nintendo NES, originally released in 1985, was the games console that started a trend for portable gaming devices. If you still have one in its box, you could earn yourself £1,000

£350: Thunder Wings Lion-O, which was made in 1986 and would have cost less than £30, was considered the holy grail in any Thundercats collection and could fetch you £350 today

£1,000 for all four: The Real Ghostbusters toyline was on sale while the show was on between 1986-1991 and is worth a small fortune today

The rare set of four ghostbusters figurines are currently on sale on eBay for £1,530

£200: The Garbage Pail Kids were launched in June 1985 as a parody of the Cabbage Patch Kids and the cheap trading cards could be worth £200 for a set nowadays. Adam Bomb’s card is being sold for over £1,000 on its own online

A full glossy set of all 82 Garbage Pail Kids cards are on eBay for well over Go Social's quoted price, with this buyer asking for £1,339

£80: The Savage He-Man figure was the most rare in the collection because the promotional mail-in offer for Wonder Bread toy was pulled from production making it even more rare

£400 boxed: Teddy Ruxpin was one of the first talking bears that you could add a cassette tape into. The modern day version is on sale for around £100 but a rare 1980s one could earn you £400 in a box

£115: Laser Power He-Man And Laser Light Skeletor were discontinued because so many complaints were filed about their quality, which has made them super rare and worth just over £100
