Stunning: The 35-year-old actress could be seen in a few scenes from the trailer for the drama released on Tuesday
In it, Dockery's character Alice Fletcher is one of the residents in a western town which is mysteriously made up of entirely women.
The series is about notorious criminal Frank Griffin (Jeff Daniels) and his gang of outlaws are on a mission of revenge against Roy Goode (Jack O’Connell), a son-like protégé who betrayed the brotherhood.
While on the run, Roy seeks refuge with hardened widower Alice Fletcher (Dockery), an outcast herself, in a worn-down, isolated mining town of La Belle, NM, governed mainly by women.
Mysterious: In the opening scenes there was a short clip featuring a bunch of dead men in a mine
Gorgeous: Though she was a far cry from her Downton Abbey character, Dockery looked fantastic
Shining star: Dockery portrays character Alice Fletcher
Top star: Frank Griffin is portrayed by Jeff Daniels as his gang of outlaws are on a mission of revenge
Big role: Jack O’Connell plays Roy Goode
When word reaches La Belle that Griffin is headed their way, the town bands together to defend against the murderous gang in a lawless western frontier.
Not many details were given in the actual trailer but there seemed to be some key moments and dialogue that were shown.
At one point two men on horseback are shown walking through the all-female town.
Interesting: There is an all-female town which is at the center of much mystery in the trailer
Wow: A man on horseback revealed: 'Dead. The Mine took them - all of them.'
Mysterious: Not much is known about Alice in the trailer set to a remix of Nancy Sinatra's famous 1966 hit Bang Bang
Declarative: The tone is then set when Mary Agnes (Merritt Wever) proudly declares: 'Mister, we are a lot f***ing stronger than you think we are!'
Red dead: Alice is not shown much in the clip but at one point is seen on top of a roof with a shotgun in hand as she blasts a few men down below on horseback
One asks: 'Where are all the men at?'
The other responds: 'Dead. The Mine took them - all of them.'
Then kicks in the ominous music which was a remix of Nancy Sinatra's famous 1966 hit Bang Bang.
Intimate: Roy then tells her 'I'm bad luck,' to which Alice replies, 'we have that in common then'
Signature line: The name of the series is named toward the end of the clip as the action picks up as Griffin says: 'It's godless country'

After a man is shot off a rough and falls to his death the words 'welcome to no man's land' is flashed across the screen.
In an interview with Vogue back in May, Michelle revealed just how different her latest role is to her breakout character of Lady Mary in the iconic drama.
'The first thing we all did when we arrived was to go on cowboy camp,' Michelle recalls of her time on set.
Confrontation: At one point two of the female characters are approached by a man with a gun
Uh oh: Martha Bischoff (Christiane Seidel) and Mary were the two women in the situation
Bad mistake: The man tries to convince the two to put down their guns but is shot in the leg
'I remember when I shot a gun – the adrenaline was crazy. On Downton Abbey we had the shooting parties, but the women just stood back and wore a nice outfit and assisted the men.'
'People are calling it a feminist western. It was a joy to work with so many women.'
Steven Soderbergh, who is known for dramas such as Traffic and Oceans 11, will executive produce the epic historical series.
The seven-part Western - which is being helmed as Netflix's first-ever limited series -will begin streaming on Netflix beginning November 22.
