Princess Beatrice revealed she faces criticism 'with a sense of humour' as she opened up about her experience with bullying.
The 29-year-old spoke about how her position as a member of the royal family meant she was forced to deal with common issues like 'struggling with her weight' and 'what fashion choices she wore' while growing up in the public eye.
Beatrice was speaking at an event at the House of Lords to celebrate the launch of the anti-bullying Be Cool Be Nice book, which she has publicly backed.

Asked about her own experience with bullying, she told Vogue: 'My experience was about growing up and living a very public life and living in an overexposed environment. So that’s from being 18 and struggling with your weight to what fashion choices you are wearing.'
She also commented specifically on the publicity she received over the plush pink 'pretzel' hat she wore to the Duke and Duchess' wedding in 2011.
'When everyone else was saying "you look ridiculous", you have to have a sense of humour,' Beatrice continued.
The self-described 'eternal optimist' said humour could be a valuable tool in combating negative feelings, adding: '[It's about] turning a negative into a positive is all about how you look at things.'

Beatrice recently opened up to Hello! magazine about how her mother's resilience inspired her while she was growing up.
Describing the Duchess of York as 'probably one of the most misunderstood women in the world' she told the magazine that her mother had her 'anything is possible , no matter where you think you think the world is going to put you next.'
She added: 'We've been through some incredibly stressful times together as a family and every single minute she created joy.
'I am so lucky that I get to learn from her every single day. I’m inspired by her ability to give, even when she’s going through something hard.'
