Lee Brooke was approaching an elk he had shot while hunting in the mountains of Wyoming when a 420lbs female bear attacked him from behind, ripping off half his face and knocking him unconscious. He woke to feel her sniffing at his cheek. 'I could feel the whiskers,' he said. Blinded by blood, Lee managed to grab a steak knife from his pocket and stab the bear in the head, just inches from her deadly jaws. The acclaimed writer of the hit television drama 'Mad Men' has denied allegations that he sexually harassed a former writer on the show. While addressing an audience in Los Angeles Friday evening, Mathew Weiner denied ever telling Kater Gordon, his former assistant-turned-writer, that he was entitled to see her naked. 'The allegations are not true, and (this) is a very important topic and a topic that I have devoted — it has been an obsession of mine, in my work and in my life, for like 92 hours of the show; we wanted people to be having this conversation,' the 52-year-old said.  Aaron Hernandez’s five-bedroom home in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, finally sold this week to 23-year-old Arif Khan, a Patriots fan and aspiring real estate investor who jumped on the opportunity to buy the home for the discounted price of $1million. The sprawling 5,000 sq ft mansion is where Hernandez lived when he killed Odin Lloyd (inset) and was his final home before he was arrested for the killing in June 2014 (left). It has a large pool and yard, a sauna and a movie theater inside but Khan plans to make drastic changes to attract new owners. He even hopes to attract another Patriots player to the property. Hernandez killed himself in April in prison after being cleared of two other murders. He was already serving time for Lloyd’s murder but was in the process of appealing that conviction when he died. The money raised by the sale of the house will go to Shayanna Jenkins, his fiancée and the mother of his daughter, but she may have to use it to settle a wrongful death lawsuit filed against Hernandez by Lloyd’s family which remains unresolved.

'If Meg marries Harry she'll have won the lottery of life but dad winning the lottery helped us all,' said Tom Jnr, 51. 'That money allowed Meg to go to the best schools and get the best training. A Twitter user with the handle @Cams_hungry2 posted a short, 18-second video clip of two high school wrestlers who try to pin each other to the ground. As they battle it out in a high school gymnasium, the referee is seen trying to position himself at a good angle so he could see the action. With the wrestlers twisting in various directions, the referee decides he needs a better view of the pin attempt. So he lies down on his left side and glides across the mat at high speed using his legs to propel him forward.

Long Island has no shortage of glamorous homes, but on Thursday eager bargain hunters were inspired by quite the opposite: The most infamously disheveled home in the New York island's history. Once the darlings of the New York socialite scene - and blood relatives of Jackie Onassis - by 1971 they lived in almost total seclusion and horrifying squalor, with a three-foot-deep pile of cat food tins in the kitchen and a home reportedly infested with rats, raccoons and at least one opossum. Their bizarre lifestyle, codependent relationship and proclivity to philosophizing about their weird existence made them the centerpiece of the celebrated 1975 documentary Grey Gardens, which has developed a huge cult following. So when pieces from the Edies' time were put up for sale in the now spotless - and under new ownership - home, it attracted a long line of eager buyers (top-right and bottom-left).

The team who made Blue Planet II(inset, right) used a camera with suction cups to capture an intimate family portrait of sperm whales(inset), giving them unique footage of the mammals life. Sperm whale family life is a complex social network and the logistics to film it are more than tricky - they live across the world’s seas and can rove for fifty miles or more a day, on many days you would be lucky to even have one encounter.

A massive humpback whale was seen jumping right next to boaters on a beautiful afternoon in Australia. The astonishing footage was captured November 12th at Bannister Head Point in New South Wales by an onlooker in the group. One woman aboard the 40-foot boat, Sarah McDonald, said the friends were out for a casual Sunday outing when they came across the cool sight.

Pictures have emerged of the 20-tonne Airlander 10's canopy completely collapsed after the prototype plummeted to the ground. The 92 metre-long airship cost £100m to get into the air before it crashed in only its second ever UK flight when its mooring lines got tangled with power lines in August 24 last year. Its manufacturers Hybrid Air Vehicles had carried out test flights on Friday before police were called to a site close to its hangars in Cardington, Bedfordshire, today.

A green sedan and a white electrician's van fought for control of a lane while merging on Ngauranga Gorge Road, Wellington, New Zealand. Neither motorist is prepared to give way as they drive perilously close to one another, driving side-by-side squeezed into the same lane. After a brief tussle the sedan is forced behind the van, which moves ahead and drives close behind the vehicle in front. Reaction to the stubborn display of driving has divided the internet, polarising opinions on Facebook.
