Demure Adriana Lima stuns on her arrival to Shanghai and can't hide her delight while flaunting her model frame ahead of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2017

She is no stranger when it comes to stripping down to her lingerie and taking to the catwalk.

But favouring a more demure ensemble on her arrival to Shangai, Adriana Lima kept her lithe frame covered up as she posed up a storm at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Friday.

The brunette bombshell, 36, has ventured to China to take part in the highly anticipated Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, known for its star-studded performances and eye-popping lingerie displays.

The Victoria's Secret catwalk show is fast approaching so, naturally, the models have descended upon Shanghai decked out in all-VS-everything.

From tees to jumpers, the angels have been making the most of their Victoria's Secret wardrobe since departing for Shanghai but it's Adriana Lima's bomber jacket that's really caught our eye. Part of this year's fashion show, the VS 2017 jacket comes complete with embroidered 'Shanghai 2017' sleeves and all-over floral detail.

Unable to hide her delight at donning her Angel wings once more, Adriana was beaming from ear-to-ear as she posed while clad in a personalised bomber jacket that boasted floral detailing across the sleeves and middle.

It had 'Victoria' embroidered on the left hand side of the chest and 'Shanghai 2017' could be seen on the cuff of the jacket's right sleeve.

Adriana teamed her chic outerwear with a pair of form-fitting jeans that made sure to highlight her model frame, while drawing attention to her pert behind.

She wore her dark tresses in glamorous curls that had been swept over to the side and accentuated her striking beauty with an immaculate make-up look.

Flashing a smile, Adriana seemed ready and raring to go ahead of this year's Victoria's Secret showcase which will air on CBS on November 28.

Adriana is the lingerie brand's longest-running model, having first joined forces with Victoria's Secret in 1999 and walking the runway for them at just 18 years of age, and has this year been considered the 'most valuable Angel'.

She has opened their annual showcase a number of times over the years, including back in 2012 when she opened for the fifth time less than two months after giving birth to her second child.

She is mother to two daughters from her previous marriage to ex-husband to Serbian NBA player Marko Jarić.

Adriana is set to join a slew of other in-demand models on the runway for the much-loved fashion show, including Martha Hunt, Elsa Hosk and Sara Sampaio.

She had come under fire several years ago after telling The Telegraph that ahead of the showcase, she sticks to a liquid-only diet for nine days prior and drank around four litres of water a day - along with months of training and working out twice a day.

Adriana added that 12 hours before the show, she would stay away from liquids altogether, adding: 'No liquids at all so you dry out, sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds [3.6kg] just from that.'

Although, the model later stressed that her comments on her diet had been a 'misunderstanding' and urged young girls to ignore her stringent preparations.

'Those teenagers out there, don't go starving yourself or only drinking liquids... Don't do that please.

'It's not that I do crazy diets throughout the year. I just do it for this particular thing. After this show, I become normal again! I know it's very intense but... I just have an athlete's mind and I appreciate doing this thing,' she told E! Canada.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is considered to be the most-watched fashion event of the years, with 800million people believed to tune in to see the models take to the catwalk in the bejewelled ensembles.

According to Harper's Bazaar, it's claimed around $12million (£9.2million) is spent on putting the major fashion event together, with a slew of famous musicians accompanying the models as they showcase the brand's dazzling designs.

Ed Sheeran has previously sung on stage with the Angels, with Bella Hadid famously strutting past ex-boyfriend The Weeknd as he performed and both Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Bruno Mars have also entertained guests in attendance and viewers at home too.

Over 50 scantily-clad models are expected to take to the runway for this year's extravaganza - including Irina Sharipova, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge and Victoria Lee, while Behati Prinsloo is expected to return following maternity leave.

Gigi Hadid, meanwhile, has been forced to pull out of their extravaganza, telling fans she is 'bummed' to miss out on the showcase on Twitter.
