They were spotted enjoying a cozy breakfast date together on Thursday.

But despite the intimate outing, Amber Heard and Elon Musk are not back together.

The 31-year-old actress and 46-year-old Tesla founder have not rekindled their romance according to a Friday report from People.

'They sat next to each other, but were not affectionate,' a source told the weekly. 'They seemed to have a somber conversation.'

Another insider told People that the rendezvous was nothing more than a friendly meeting and that there didn't appear to be any signs of getting back together.

The news comes after the two enjoyed breakfast in LA together on Thursday.

The source explained: 'They’re definitely not back together, but have seen each other a couple times as friends.'

The former couple were spotted together at Sweet Butter Kitchen in Sherman Oaks, an old haunt of theirs from when they were together.

Amber, 31, made sure she looked cute for the reunion, in a figure-hugging white dress and snakeskin boots.

She paired them with a decorative bolero, wide-brimmed hat and red neckerchief.

The 46-year-old Tesla billionaire meanwhile was dressed head to toe in his traditional black.

They brought some interesting reading material for their date: Amber's edition of GQ Magazine.

The Texan was named the mag's Woman Of The Year, and as such adorned the front cover.

The father-of-five pored over the pages with interest, while his ex-squeeze sidled up beside him and peered over his shoulder.

She then appeared to let her mind wander as her former beau continued to stare stare intently at the article.

Afterwards the duo left the restaurant together; while it wasn't clear who brought the magazine, Musk made sure he left with it.

Incidentally, neither appeared to have a copy of Rolling Stone magazine, the current issue of which has its cover adorned by Elon.

In his interview, he detailed how he was left reeling when the Aquaman star dumped him.

'She broke up with me more than I broke up with her, I think,' he revealed. 'I was really in love, and it hurt bad.'

He added that he was in 'severe emotional pain' for several weeks after.

They blamed their break-up down on the strains of a long-distance relationship and busy work schedules.

Musk told Rolling Stone that his heartbreak over his break-up had even affected the launch of his Tesla Model 3.

'It took every ounce of will to be able to do the Model 3 event and not look like the most depressed guy around. For most of that day, I was morbid,' he said.

'And then I had to psych myself up: drink a couple of Red Bulls, hang out with positive people and then, like, tell myself: 'I have all these people depending on me. All right, do it!''

Musk, who has been married three times before — twice to the same person — continued the interview discussing his desire for a long-term partner.

'I'm looking for a long-term relationship. I'm not looking for a one-night stand. I'm looking for a serious companion or soulmate, that kind of thing,' the tech-magnate said.

'If I'm not in love, if I'm not with a long-term companion, I cannot be happy.'

Musk, who has five children with his first wife Justine, got emotional as he spoke of going to sleep alone.

'I will never be happy without having someone. Going to sleep alone kills me,' he said.

'It's not like I don't know what that feels like: Being in a big empty house, and the footsteps echoing through the hallway, no one there – and no one on the pillow next to you. How do you make yourself happy in a situation like that?

'When I was a child, there's one thing I said: I never want to be alone. That's what I would say. I don't want to be alone.'

Elon started dating Amber fresh off the back of her split from husband Johnny Depp, 54, - who she accused of domestic abuse.

He had recently split from English actress Talulah Riley, 32, who he was married to from 2010 to 2012 and again from 2013–2016.

The South African-born inventor shares five children with ex wife Justine Musk, 45, who he was married to from 2000 to 2008.

They lost their first-born son Nevada to SIDS at just ten weeks; they went on to conceive twins and triplets via IVF.
