Some of the biggest names in music gathered on Sunday night for the 2017 American Music Awards.

A host of stars lit up the red carpet on Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles including Selena Gomez, who debuted her newly dyed blonde hair.

Demi Lovato, 25, arrived soon after in a head-turning black lace gown, putting her curvy figure on full display.

Selena, who unveiled her lighter locks at the Sunday awards show, flaunted her legs in an edgy black and silver leather dress.

The Heart Wants What It Wants songstress stepped on the carpet in a fitted leather dress, featuring a zippered accent as well as star embellishments.

Selena, a natural brunette, showed off her surprising new hair color as she strutted down the red carpet.

The actress wore her new tresses loose and with a deep side part with her dazzling diamond earrings on display.

The former Disney star, who took home the award for favorite female artist in 2016, will be singing her new single Wolves.

Before she stepped on the red carpet, Selena showed off her golden locks in a series of images shared to her Instagram account.

Demi, 25, also turned heads at this year's awards show; the dark haired beauty looked incredible in a strapless lace gown.

The Cool For Summer singer flaunted her assets in the low-cut dress, which had a sweetheart neckline.

The black and nude number ruched at the waist with a mini train of fabric trailing behind her.

Demi styled the curve hugging dress with diamond jewelry and her long raven locks cascading over one shoulder.

Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld had the same idea as Selena, opting for a plunging black leather bralette.

The 20-year-old artist layered a structured black blazer, adding tailored trousers and slicked back hair.

Ciara, Nicole Kidman and Kehlani all rocked all black look for this year's show.

Ciara, who sported slick wavy hair, was tantalizing in her mini dress; the frock had a thigh high slit, showing off her sculpted pins.

Nicole was on hand to support her husband, country star Keith Urban. 

Kelly Rowland, Madelaine Petsch and Lili Reinhart also slipped on black frocks with sheer paneling and a textured accent.

The three women all chose frocks with see-through elements; Kelly and Lili opted to add a pop of color while Madelaine went for a fringed look.

Jenna Dewan Tatum led the way in her slightly sheer gold dress, with a plunging neckline and sheer stripes along the skirt. 

The dancer and actress put her sculpted figure on display in the patterned metal frock, adding wavy hair and gold shadow on her lids.

The strapless frock had gold detailing as well a layered skirt; the Who Knew songstress finished off the fancy ensemble with navy fringe earrings.

The singer, who posed up a storm with her husband, Cary Hart, rocked her signature pink locks.

Pregnant Jessie James Decker led the way for one popular trend on the red carpet - the color pink.

The 29-year-old country singer put her growing baby bump on display in the glamorous frock for the music extravaganza.

Jessie, who is married to NFL star Eric Decker, styled the off-the-shoulder number with sky-high metallic heels.

The German-born beauty, 44, flaunted her cleavage as well as her sculpted back in the plunging look.

Also jumping on the rose colored trend was actress Lea Michele.

Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross is hosting the ceremony with mom Diana Ross performing during the evening as well as picking up the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Tracee, 45, arrived in a sequined burgundy frock, complete with long sleeves and a deep thigh slit; the actress complemented the turtleneck-style frock with red lipstick and coordinating velvet heels. 

The TV actress was joined on the carpet by her mother Diana as well as her younger brother, Evan Ross, his wife Ashlee Simpson, and their daughter Jagger Snow Ross.

Bruno Mars leads the nominations with a total of eight nods.

The Uptown Funk hit maker is followed  by Ed Sheeran, Drake, the Chainsmokers, Kendrick Lamar and the Weeknd with five nominations each.

Opening the show will be Pink and Kelly Clarkson, performing together for the first time ever. 

The women will also have their own solo sets during the evening; Pink singing the title track from her Beautiful Trauma album and Clarkson performing a song from her Meaning of Life studio album.

Another highlight of the night will no doubt be Christina Aguilera's performance.

The songstress will honor Whitney Houston with a Bodyguard tribute marking the movie's 25th anniversary.

Nick Jonas, Niall Horan, Demi Lovato, Imagine Dragons and Lady Gaga are also set to perform during the evening.

According to the official AMAs website, the nomination process is based on 'key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity, and touring,

'These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.'

The AMAs will be broadcast live on ABC at 8pm ET.
