Melanie Sykes has declared herself a single woman following rumours of a romance with Olly Murs.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the 45-year-old TV personality paired a stunning red carpet image of herself with a fiery message on her relationship status.

'This is what a single, happy, healthy, 47yrs old independent mother of two teenage sons looks like. DEAL WITH IT!,' she expressed under the image - which saw her shooting down heavy hear'say that she's being wooed by singer Olly, 33.

With rumours of the coupling swirling in recent weeks, Mel was keen on having her say - which she did with the feisty caption, although it's not clear if they ever dated at some point.

This comes after Closer Magazine alleged she was keen on taking her romance with Olly to the next level and they already chatting about marriage and children.

And the singer and fitness enthusiast's supposed relationship of one year seemed to be backed up by a string of flirty texts dating back to 2012, as sourced by Reveal Magazine.

Speaking to the publication, a source claimed that Mel is already keen on marriage but isn't too fussed about having children.
