She said: 'I've never left The Black Eyed Peas. We've never broken up officially, I guess we're just on a break. We're family. They're like my work family. That's for ever.

'Honestly, I would have loved to be able to do my album in one tenth of the time, do a Black Eyed Peas album in that same time, tour both, have another child. There's just not enough hours in the day.'

The blonde beauty, who released her second solo studio album, Double Dutchess, in September is now focused on creating a music video for every single on the compilation, which she called a 'labour of love'.

2017 has been a year of transition for the London Bridge hitmaker. Not only has she relaunched her solo career but is also adjusting to life as a single mother following her split from husband Josh Duhamel.

The former couple share one son, four-year-old Axl Jack.

The Glamorous songstress recorded her album while in the midst of her split but said despite her heartbreak, she found the process 'therapeutic'.

She said: 'It's therapeutic. I really want to feel something. Not just a little bit, I like to go big - go big or go home when it comes to emotion. Basically that goes into everything I do.'

Elephunk, released in 2003, was the third studio album by The Black Eyed Peas - but the first to showcase Fergie, who became a star via her work with the band.

The will.i.am Music Group and A&M jointly released The Dutchess, Fergie's smash hit debut solo album, released in 2006 and featuring her iconic song Fergalicious.

After reports spread that the star, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, was out of the Grammy-winning group in June, will.i.am, 42, wrote on Twitter that was not the case.

He said: 'Lies…@Fergie is focusing on #DoubleDutchess & @BEP is doing #MastersOfTheSun…That doesn’t mean @fergie is out of the group #BEP4ever.'

Last weekend she performed her new single Save It Til Morning live on The X Factor.

Fergie and her 44-year-old actor husband revealed in a statement in September they had split with 'love and respect' some time ago.

The two started dating in 2004 and married in 2009.

They announced their separation a few days after it was heavily speculated that the The You Already Know hitmaker was expecting her second child with the 44-year-old actor.

They said in a statement: 'With absolute love and respect, we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year.

'To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.'
