RHOC's Dawn Ward dazzles in leggy black dress at Design Awards with footballer beau Ashley... after coming under fire for defending daughter Darby's boob job

She's been the subject of much criticism recently after defending her daughter's decision to have breast implants.

But Dawn Ward didn't seem to have a care in the world as she attended The Design Awards with her husband Ashley at the Principle Hotel in Manchester on Friday.

Walking hand in hand with the former footballer, the 44-year-old Real Housewives Of Cheshire star looked in great spirits on the outing.

Try the one-sleeve trend like Dawn in Topshop

It was Coco Chanel who said every woman should own an LBD, and Dawn Ward proved that old adage still rings true as she stepped out to the Design Awards in Manchester.

That said, she put a fresh twist on the traditional LBD by opting for a one-sleeved style, giving it a cool modern spin and updating it for the season.

Styled by Steven Spencer, Dawn wore her dress with a leopard print bag by Zara and Givenchy's signature platform 'shark lock' pumps (find them in the edit below).

Sadly Dawn's Topshop dress has now sold out, but don't fret too much if you were thinking you had your party season dress sorted...

Showing off her incredible figure, the blonde bombshell donned a little black dress with a daring thigh high split that offered a look at her tanned and toned pins.

Adding to the glamour, the reality starlet carried a leopard print clutch bag, whilst her glossy golden locks were worn in loose waves that framed her pretty features.

Former England player Ashley - who was also celebrating his 47th birthday that night - cut a dapper figure in a fitted grey suit.

The outing came after Dawn was faced with tough questions from Loose Women panellists Jane Moore and Saira Khan when she went on the show last month.

The reality star went on to defend her decision to allow her two daughters to have boob jobs after some of her fellow TV housewives attacked their decision on the show.

Darby 21, recently had a breast enlargement, whilst her sister Taylor, 19, has also had an augmentation.

The presenters questioned whether they felt Dawn's daughters needed boob jobs because they had been raised in a 'glamorous' environment.

Discussing the backlash the family faced, Darby told MailOnline: 'Me and my family now live our lives in the public eye, so everything is heightened and this was no different. I was shocked at the level this went to though. I understand that people have their opinion but this is my body and my decision.

'It's upsetting that she was only being supportive parent in a decision I was going to make anyway. Mum has always maintained that every person and situation is different, so we should never judge.

'There's been certain people that have made a real effort to voice their opinion on this, despite not really having the grounds to speak or an educational response. I'm a big believer that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Unfortunately quite a few stones have been launched.'
