Football legend Ronaldo looks far removed from his sporting days as he shares passionate kiss with girlfriend Celina Locks after watching her debut new fashion line at Brazilian show

He continues to be celebrated as one of Real Madrid and the Brazil national team's most prodigious and deadly strikers from the 1990s and 2000s.

But on Wednesday, retired footballer Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima found himself on the sidelines while cheering on his girlfriend Celina Locks, as she debuted her new fashion line during the TIG Parade in São Paulo, Brazil.

The 40-year-old former sportsman - known mononymously to fans simply as Ronaldo - passionately locked lips with his stunning partner, after joining a host of well-heeled guests in attendance to peruse her sartorial offerings.

With a camcorder in hand, the football legend proudly captured all of the action, in between mingling with those lucky enough to land a ticket to the exclusive event.

Ronaldo stepped out in casually cool style for the showcase, donning a navy polo shirt with matching tracksuit bottoms and a pair of box fresh, crisp white sneakers.

He posed for snapshots with a host of attendees, before sharing a smooch with blonde beauty Celina, who stepped out in a patterned off-shoulder minidress, which included a monochrome leopard-print theme.

Widely regarded as one of the most prolific strikers on the planet during his playing career, Brazilian Ronaldo formally retired from professional football in 2011 after an illustrious playing career.

And having hung up his boots for good, the comparatively relaxed lifestyle has clearly had an effect on Ronaldo's physique.

The World Cup winner's evident weight gain came under scrutiny in January when his former teammate Michael Owen made a playful dig at the star after a meeting at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

In what was designed as a light-hearted post on Twitter, Owen took the moment as an opportunity to have some fun at the expense of Ronaldo, posting: 'I thought I was putting the pounds on until I saw my old mate Ronnie!'

But like many on the social media site, the two-time Ballon d'Or winner did not see the funny side and took the opportunity to express his bemusement at the persistent digs at his physique.

Speaking at the FIFA ceremony earlier this year, Ronaldo said: 'I am shocked as to how much importance my weight garners in the world we live in. I don't know why it is so important, to be honest.'

Former team-mate Roberto Carlos waded into the argument by defending his fellow Brazilian, adding: 'I don't like these type of jokes.

Ronaldo is a very good friend of mine and we have to be careful. The thing about Ronaldo is not about his body, it's his heart, he has a very big heart.'
