And, together, Ed Sheeran and Beyonce have made some very sweet music, as the unstoppable music forces released the aptly named Perfect Duet on Friday.

While Ed, 26, enjoyed huge success with Perfect, he can expect the song to dominate the charts again as the Single Ladies hitmaker lends her incredible vocals to the track.

Goosebumps will no doubt be a given as the talented pair share the lyrics of the emotive love song, which sees their faultless vocals marry perfectly.

Lyrically the track is pretty much the same as the original version - which has enjoyed 28 weeks in the UK charts and 13 weeks in the US - though Beyonce directs the song at the man in her life, as oppose to the woman in Ed's. 

Despite only being released a matter of hours ago, the track is already a strong contender for the coveted Christmas number one spot.

Meanwhile, the Galway Girl crooner revealed he was completely star struck when queen of pop Beyonce agreed to record a song with him.

'I can’t believe it, to be honest,' he told Australia's News Corp on Friday about their new duet, which is racing up the charts.

He said he had initially asked Beyonce to perform on a rendition of his single, Perfect, believing she wouldn't accept the offer.

'It’s something I kinda did just to see whether she would say yes,' he revealed.

Indeed she did, and the Texas born beauty and the redhead from West Yorkshire soon found themselves together in a recording booth.

'It’s a really weird thing, it was just me and her and an engineer, which was very cool' the pop star claimed.

He added that he has enormous 'respect' for Beyonce and stated that the experience was a 'rare' opportunity to craft the song without input from anybody else.
