Eight police officers hurt in scuffle with crowd over teenage girl who hadn't paid her bus fare

Eight police officers have been injured after confronting a passenger who had not paid for her bus fare in Dalston, East London.
The passenger on the bus was found not to have a valid ticket by officers supporting TfL inspectors at around 6pm on Friday.
A number of the officers sustained facial injures, including cuts and bruises. Two other officers were taken to hospital with concussion.
The incident took place on Kingsland High Street on Friday evening
Two teenage girls and an 18-year-old man were arrested over the incident on Kingsland High Street.
A 15-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assaulting on a police officer and fare evasion.
The man and a 16-year-old girl were held on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
The officers taken to hospital have since been discharged.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: 'At approximately 17:55hrs on Friday, 1 December, officers were patrolling the bus network with bus inspectors in Hackney carrying out fare checks.
'A female passenger [A] was found not to be in possession of a valid fare/Oyster card. A large group subsequently confronted the officers on Kingsland High Street.
'Additional officers attended. Eight police officers were injured. Two were taken to an east London hospital for treatment; both have since been discharged.
'The remaining officers suffered facial assault-related injuries.
'A 15-year-old female [A], an 18-year-old man [B] and a 16-year-old female [C] were subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault on a police officer. They remain in custody at an east London police station.
Anyone with video footage or information about the incident has been encouraged to talk to the Metropolitan Police
'This followed the arrest of [A] on suspicion of fare evasion.
'Enquiries continue.'
