I'm A Celebrity: Shappi Khorsandi becomes the FIRST star to be voted out of the jungle... and lashes out at Amir Khan as she discovers the truth about StrawberryGate

Shappi Khorsandi has become the first star to be eliminated from the jungle, in the 17th season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

While Amir Khan, Dennis Wise and Iain Lee were immune from being voted out, the rest of the camp waited nervously on Friday evening's instalment as Ant and Dec announced the news of the first eviction.

Voting took place during the live episode, with only a small window of time for the public to decide who should leave first, with Shappi, 44, getting the most votes.

Big exit: Comedian Shappi Korsandi was the first campmate to be voted out of the jungle on Friday night, telling Ant and Dec she was delighted to be out so she would see her children

'He gets away with absolute murder!' Shappi Khorsandi spills what she REALLY thinks of Amir Khan as she becomes the FIRST star to be voted out of the jungle

The comedienne appeared relieved to be out of the camp. 'I missed my children like crazy,' she said, bursting into tears.

Ant and Dec made sure they broke it to her that the now-famous StrawberryGate was in fact Amir Khan's doing, after the entire camp believed it to be down to Iain Lee.

'Amir is everyone's cheeky little brother, and he gets away with absolute murder!' Shappi said on learning this information.

Shappi didn't face many trials during her time, and she declared to Ant and Dec, whilst sipping from a glass of champagne: 'I think I got off lightly!'

She did feature in a Dingo Dollar Challenge with Jamie Lomas involving rubber snakes, and a trial in which she and Becky Vardy were put through a race across the jungle that saw them swim fully-clothed through a lake.

'I don't know what kind of life I've led but I've never swam wearing all my clothes, my shoes and a rucksack on my back,' she said of the latter task.

Shappi - who will go on to be reunited with her children Cassius and Genevieve - told Ant and Dec: 'I’m really relieved to be out, I feel like I had the most incredible experience and I’ll never forget it. And I’m gonna see the guys when they come out, so there’s no point missing people that you’re gonna see again.

'I only got bitten by about 100,000 ants, and some people had it a lot worse. My last challenge wasn’t gory it was kinda funny and silly, and … Oh man it was amazing.'

The Iranian-born star did struggle with the lack of food she received whilst in the jungle, as she admitted surviving on small rations 'messed' with her head.

She said: 'It messes with your moods, of course it does, because you think we’re going to have games and we’re going to have fun, but everyone’s just so tired. And then like, in your real world you think the idea of getting five salt and vinegar crisps…like we were so excited about those crisps.'

Elsewhere in the episode one joke made by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly left a bad taste in several viewers' mouths, after they accused Ant of joking about avos- mistaken for aborigines, something his representative later clarified to have been short for 'avocados'.

Speaking about the blue jackets the celebrities in the jungle had to wear for a recent task, Dec said that they were being donated to 'underprivileged Australians who suffer terrible working conditions'.

The camera then cut to the crew of the show, all wearing the blue tops. Ant appeared to then say: 'Poor souls, they get paid in abos.'

His representative later confirmed to the MailOnline: 'Ant ‘paid in avos ‘ which is short for avocados.'

'Is it OK for him to say that?' Ant McPartlin leaves viewers uncomfortable as he appears to use racist slang towards Australian crew

Misheard: Elsewhere in the episode one joke made by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly left a bad taste in several viewers' mouths, after they accused Ant of joking about avos- mistaken for aborigines, something his representative later clarified to have been short for 'avocados'

The term 'abo' is defined as 'a contemptuous term used to refer to an Australian Aborigine' - and viewers picking up on it flocked to Twitter to express their dismay. MailOnline has contacted a rep for the show for comment.

'Did he say "they get paid in Abos"?' one person asked on Twitter, as another posted: 'Paid in Abos!! Little racist there.'

A third wrote: 'Is it OK for Ant to refer to "Abbos" on #ImACelebrity I'm not so sure. Could be wrong. But it sounded wrong. I didn't like hearing it.'

Replying to this, someone posted: 'I thought I must have misheard! He can't say that! Bye bye Ant.'

Did he, didn't he? Some of the tweets received replies from viewers claiming that Ant had actually said 'avos' [referring to avocados] or 'eyeballs' [which is what the subtitles allegedly said]

Another person typed '@imacelebrity can you just clarify what @Ant_McPartlin said that the Aussie #ImACelebrity2017 crew were paid in please?! I am reeling from the potential racist term it sounded like...' tagging the official Twitter account for the show, looking for answers.

'Did he say they pay Aussies with Abos? Please tell me he didn't,' came another questioning tweeter.

'Did Ant McPartlin just say the Australian Crew get paid in Aborigines?' someone else asked.
