Posing for the camera: Penny spends a lot of time dressed as a Stormtrooper, with fellow fans who collect money for charity at events
'The outfit was originally meant to be just a Halloween costume, that would be just worn a few times.
'But because she wears it all the time now, it had to be redone. The only part of the original that is still in use is the helmet.'
She added: 'I have since rebuilt it a few more times to make something that will endure her trouping with the Stormtroopers on their charity events.
'It's much more detailed, flexible, even lighter to keep her cool and is built to endure.'
Sabrina has now been inundated with thousands of messages from impressed film fans after she posted pictures of her dog's outfit online.
Penny the dog spends a great deal of her time dressed up in the costume with members of the Stormtrooper Ranch - a fictional 'regiment' of fellow Star Wars fans who collect money for charity at events.
Crafted: Penny's owner Sabrina has almost completely remodelled the costume since her first attempt, making it lighter and more versatile
Smiles: Penny has an entire wardrobe of outfits, including Princess Leia and iconic characters including Iron Man and the Ghostbusters
Crowd-pleaser: Penny the four-year-old Doberman pinscher poses with her fellow Star Wars fans, including one dressed as Darth Vader
Finishing touches: After spending hundreds of hours crafting he costume from fibreglass, Sabrina also paints Penny's nails as a key detail
The costume is made entirely from fibreglass and resin, which she cast around her dog's head.
'None of this could have been done if Penny weren't a very tolerant dog,' Sabrina continued.
'She has been dressed up in one way or another since she came home as a little pup so this build was nothing new to her, but most dogs will have a big issue with it.
'To start this build we had to start with a mould of her head.
'For this build I wrapped her head in a nice, thick, soft towel, then used fibreglass casting material to cast the top half of her head.
Say cheese: As Penny spends so much of her time in the costume, Sabrina had to make sure it was light and comfortable enough to wear
Padding: To make the fibreglass head, Sabrina wrapped a towel around Penny's head to make sure she was protected from the material
Good dog: Although most dogs would have an issue with being in a full-body costume, Penny's been dressed up since she was a puppy
'The towel not only protected her, it also allows extra room in the helmet to breathe and add padding for adjustment and comfort - it's better to have the helmet too big than too small.'
As well as the Stormtrooper costume, Penny also has outfits so she can become Princess Leia and characters from other iconic films, including Iron Man and the Ghostbusters.
The body of the costume is made out of lightweight foam, so the dog can stay cool and is free to move around.
