'It's like 'inertia'!': Saoirse Ronan debuts catchy song about how to pronounce her name on SNL... as countrymen U2 belt out two new tunes

Saoirse Ronan may have finally educated the masses as to how to pronounce her Irish name.

The 23-year-old actress, who just starred in the critically acclaimed Lady Bird, started her Saturday Night Live monologue by explaining her unique name actually means 'freedom.'

Leslie Jones then approached to wish her a good show, however, immediately mispronounced the young starlet's name as Cersei, from Game of Thrones. Saoirse then patiently explained that the latter half of her name sounds just like 'inertia,' to which Leslie said 'I have a cousin named Inertia!'

After several more tries, Saoirse sings a complex little tune in an attempt to explain the correct sounds to use when saying her name.

She's soon joined by Kate McKinnon, and several other SNLers who recite the same song to wild applause.

There were more jibes at the Brooklyn star's Irish heritage as well.

The final skit had Saoirse play the part of a stewardess on an Air Lingus flight, which of course is the flag carrier of Ireland.

Pooch on the loose! She then walked through several gags, which included gathering up all of the captain's wayward dogs and introducing another stewardess who introduced all of the potato-based food items available on the flight

Of course there were more American-minded bits as well, such as a take-off of the latest reality hit Floribama Shore.

That clip saw Saoirse take on the roll of Trish of Tallahassee, Florida, 'a fearless Christian sex-addict with gum diseases you ain't even heard of.'

Lucky girl! As she obviously was the most desirable of the various contestants on the show, a gentleman in a pink tank top proposes to Trish, only to be disemboweled by a 'stop' sign propelled by hurricane Irma

Another skit saw Saoirse bidding for men at a country club's 'bachelor auction.'

A somewhat nerdy Chad is offered up to the audience of ladies, and immediately garners massive bids for his very mundane attributes.

U2 was the show's musical guest, and delighted the crowd with two songs off their new album Songs of Experience.

The first tune, during which frontman Bono used a bull horn, was titled American Soul, while the second song was Get Out of Your Own Way.
