And stepping out in London ahead of the two-night event, Sharon Osbourne looked a little taken aback as she braced herself against the freezing December weather.

Clutching on to her camel trench coat as she walked across the street of the Capital, Sharon, 65, looked fresh-faced with just a basic layer of make-up covering her complexion, looking startled as she walked against the chilly wind.

Mrs O looked far from her usual camera-ready self as she headed through the night, also holding on to a black bag, scarf and her phone.

Her red mane blew back from her face in the icy breeze, accentuating her high eye-brows and her startled expression.

The veteran talent show judge displayed her impressive jewelry - in the form of a diamond ring and matching earrings - and showed off her bright red manicure.

Her appearance comes as she declared that she wants the late George Michael's hit Last Christmas to reach number one this December to mark the one year anniversary of his death.

And while this is a thoughtful sentiment, it's usually the X Factor winner's single that tries to reach the annual Christmas number one.

Speaking about the campaign to get Wham!’s Last Christmas to the top of the charts this year, Sharon said: 'Oh God yeah! Wouldn’t that be great? That would be amazing. It feels right!'

She went on: 'My happiest memories of George are taking my daughters [Kelly and Aimee] to see him perform. We lost so many stars last year that you can’t replace. Do you think there’s anybody around who can replace Prince? No. And there’s nobody as an artist and songwriter that can replace George.

'For somebody of my age, that was the soundtrack to our youth. You look at those people who are no longer with us and you’re like: "Oh s**t." It’s frightening. It’s just so horribly sad that he’s gone.'

Ahead of the spectacular series close, Sharon's contestant Grace visited her hometown of Blackburn on Wednesday for her homecoming where she received overwhelming support from locals, as well as her famous mentor.

The 20-year-old was in high spirits as she arrived at her family home, where she was pictured kissing her dear kitten, before heading out to greet her excited supporters.

Up in Glasgow, Nicole Scherzinger was also supporting her act Kevin Davy for his performance at the SEE Hydro.

He also got a strong show of support from form X Factor winner James Arthur, who was with him backstage before the gig.

In Blackburn, chirpy youngster Grace headed to her family home before a late night performance in her home town, in front of judge Sharon.

She wrapped up in a grey jumper, midnight blue bottoms and pink cocoon coat, which matched her heavily pigmented eyeshadow.

Grace was seen chatting to her thrilled family members ahead of the finale.

Moving on to the public, she warmly embraced schoolchildren as her young followers paraded posters for the budding songwriter.
