'We have a normal life': Rocker Gary Numan talks about swapping UK for LA... as he poses with his stunning wife alongside 20ft dragon statue in their garden
He left his £975,000 Twenties-style Surrey home for in a castle-like house in Los Angeles with a 20ft bronze dragon in the garden.
But Gary Numan has said that he has a 'very normal' family life despite his somewhat lavish taste in property.
The British singer-songwriter, whose new album Savage (Songs From A Broken World) debuted at number two in the charts, told Hello! magazine on Monday that he and his wife Gemma spend as much time as they can with their three daughters Raven, Persia and Echo at their Los Angeles pad.

Gary, 59, said: 'We love being at home. I work when the kids are at school, not when they're at home or at weekends. We're always doing things together.
'OK, we have a big house that looks like a castle, we have a swimming pool and a 20ft bronze dragon in the front garden - so we have some of the trappings - but life is very normal too.'
The Hammersmith-born talent, who is about to embark on a UK and European tour, has lived with his family in the impressive property featuring vaulted ceilings, secret staircases and a trap door between floors since 2012.
The family crossed the pond to leave behind their six-bedroom Sussex home which was valued at £950,000 to £975,000, Gary told The Telegraph at the time.

Happy families: Fan-turned-wife Gemma, who married Gary in 1997 (pictured together on their honeymoon), told Hello! she loved the not-so-humble LA abode the moment she first saw it
Fan-turned-wife Gemma, who married Gary in 1997, told Hello! she loved the not-so-humble LA abode from the moment she first saw it.
She said: 'Gary said to me to be calm when we went in.
'But when the estate agent opened the door, I pushed him out of the way. Gary just remembers how I screamed as I went round from room to room going, "I love it, I love it!". In my head I moved in that day and I've never moved out.'
Wanting more: Gary will be touring to promote his 21st album at the end of September and said he still craves success after his decades in the music industry
She added: 'Our life together is so lovely. We're best friends - soulmates. There aren't many days that we've been apart.
'We do everything together and it's not a possessive doing-everything-together, it's because want to be with each other.'

The Cars hit-maker, who has maintained his cult following for his synthy music since the 1980s, told the magazine: 'I'm content with where I am but I'm still not where I want to be.
'I want number one albums and singles and to do arena tours. Not that many people who were around when I started are still around now.'
