As an established actor across film and theatre, he met his much younger wife when he was performing in Macbeth back in 2008.

And Patrick Stewart, 77, looked delighted to be in the charming company of Sunny Ozell, 38, at Theatre Royal for the Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday.

The X-Men actor and his stunning wife looked closer than ever as they were stylishly in sync at the A-list affair, opting for a deep blue colour palette.

Star Trek star Patrick looked dapper in his blue two-piece suit, worn with a white shirt, a black tie and shiny brogues for the final touches.

Sunny flaunted her hourglass figure in a deep blue gown to match her husband, featuring a shimmering pattern to catch the spotlight.

The American singer exuded elegance as she styled her glossy tresses in voluminous curls, framing her face and adding a shade of scarlet lipstick to her pout.

Adding a pop of pink, the glamorous beauty toted a pink clutch that was complete with a golden clasp to bring attention to the bangles worn on her right wrist. 

The couple were joined by the great and the good of the showbiz world including Keira Knightley, Suki Waterhouse and Cate Blanchett.

Sparks flew when the couple first started dating in 2008 after they met when he was was performing in Macbeth at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The silver fox purchased a home in August 2012 and by March 2013 they announced the exciting news of their engagement.

Patrick and Sunny were married in a romantic ceremony in September 2013, with Sir Ian McKellen performing at the wedding. 

He reprised his iconic role as X-Men founder Professor X in the Wolverine tale Logan earlier this year which hit the cinemas in March 2017.

Onstage at a SiriusXM Town Hall with the film's leading man Hugh Jackman, he revealed why he decided to leave the X-Men franchise for good.

At the film's world premiere during this year's Berlinale: 'I realized there will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional, and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this movie.'
