Ms Keeler, who was thrust into the spotlight as a showgirl in the 1960s, died on Monday night, at the Princess Royal university hospital in Farnborough, Hampshire. She had been ill for several months, suffering from the lung disease COPD. The former model (pictured right in 2013) became embroiled in the Profumo affair after she enjoyed a romance with Secretary of State for War, John Profumo, at the height of the Cold War. But Ms Keeler and Profumo’s romance only lasted a few weeks and at the same time she became involved in an affair with Commander Eugene Ivanov, a Soviet naval attaché at the Russian Embassy in London.

Arlene Foster REFUSES to back down in Irish border fight as she blames Dublin for triggering the row and DUP leader still hasn't spoken to Theresa May more than 24 hours after forcing Brexit talks in Brussels to collapse
DUP leader Arlene Foster (inset in Belfast tonight) has refused to back down in a row over Brexit insisting she was just as 'unequivocal' as Dublin about the terms of the Irish border. In a clear signal there will not be a quick fix as Theresa May (top right in No 10 today) scrambles to reassemble a draft deal that was ready for agreement yesterday lunchtime, Mrs Foster blamed Dublin for the breakdown in communication with the Tories. The DUP leader is due to finally speak to the Prime Minister later tonight, more than 24 hours after a call yesterday that forced Mrs May to quit a crucial round of Brexit talks. The Government in Westminster has scrambled today to insist any arrangement for Northern Ireland will be matched across the UK, meaning in some areas rules after Brexit will still follow EU terms. Brexit Secretary David Davis (left in the Commons this afternoon) flatly denied that the government was prepared to sign up to terms that would risk Northern Ireland's future, vowing that the 'integrity of the UK comes first'. DUP Westminster leader Nigel Dodds (bottom right at Parliament today) defended his party's decision to torpedo the deal.

Last example of Britain's first ever double decker caravan with its own upstairs bedroom and roof-top patio bought for just £1 goes up for sale for £40,000
The only surviving example of Britain's first ever double-decker caravan is up for sale at £40,000. The Berkeley Statesman double-decker cost around £1,065 - the same as a terraced home - when it was launched at the Earl's Court Motor Show in 1951. It was a star attraction thanks to its upstairs bedroom (top inset), rooftop patio and cutting-edge interiors by mid-century modern design icons John and Sylvia Reid - now the only example left is being put up for sale. It has been fully restored but also now features modern conveniences such as showers, flushable toilets, gas cooker (bottom inset) and even a fold-away sink. Tim Mitchinson (shown main, on top of the vehicle), from York, rescued the van 10 years ago (top left) after buying it from a caravan club for £1, and is now looking to sell it to fund an extension to his home. Since being refurbished, the caravan has even lapped at the Goodwood Festival (bottom left).
Mother-of-two rescues her stolen dogs from horrific pet DUNGEON in derelict farmhouse where they were being held by dognappers
Deniqua Westwood (left and right), 30, from Lancashire, was reunited with her beloved pets almost a week after they were dognapped from a stable from which she runs an equine business. The huge dogs, Walter (right) the two-year-old bull-mastiff and Betty (left) the three-year-old blind St Bernard, were drugged and carted away in a haulage wheel barrow in a planned nighttime snatch. Distraught business owner Ms Westwood raised the alarm on social media and offered a staggering £20,000 reward for the safe return of the dogs.
Barking mad! The VERY awkward personalised Christmas cards pet lovers send to their loved ones - including a monkey dressed as a baby and a dog wrapped up like Jesus
However you feel about people dressing up their pets, if there was ever a more hilarious time to do so — it's at Christmas. Because garish festive jumpers and hats look comical enough on humans let alone on dogs, cats and monkeys. And those who enjoy playing dress-up with their furry friends are more than likely to be all too willing to share snaps of their escapades on the internet. Consequently, this cringe-worthy gallery of awkward shots contains everything from a monkey dressed up as a baby, to a dog wrapped up like the baby Jesus.
Ukrainian 'Black Widow' asking court to rule she was not involved in hit-and-run death of her British businessman husband denies she is doing it 'for the money'
A Ukrainian internet bride accused of organising the hit-and-run death of her British millionaire husband says it is 'nonsense' that she did it 'for the money'. Anna Ziuzina, dubbed the 'Black Widow', has asked for a High Court ruling that she did not murder Barry Pring, who died on their first wedding anniversary in 2008. Mr Pring's family believe the 47-year-old IT consultant's death in Kiev was deliberate and premeditated. Relatives also believe that Ms Ziuzina, 38, who has changed her name by deed poll to Julianna Moore, was implicated, said Deputy Master Lloyd on Tuesday. If that belief was proved to be correct, the forfeiture rule - which precludes a person who has unlawfully killed another from benefiting in consequence - would 'unquestionably' apply, he added.
The ghosts of Christmas past: Digital artist creates haunting images of London's busiest streets spliced with scenes taken over the past century
The images have been masterfully altered to showcase the holiday season in the capital throughout the early 20th century, 1950s and 1960s. One depicts a group of men dressed as Father Christmas while waiting for a bus at Holborn in 1960 — while a modern-day scene buzzes around them. Another shows Christmas turkeys strung up by their feet at Smithfield Market in 1968 against a backdrop of a very different-looking city today. Perhaps the most striking is an image of a man dressed Father Christmas walking up Regent Street during the Second World War in 1940.
What a BREEZE! British windsurfer, 51, breaks the world speed record for the SECOND time reaching 54mph
British windsurfer Zara Davis (top right) broke the world speed record after hitting 54mph while zipping along a canal in Namibia, western Africa (left and bottom right), which is faster than most speed boats. The 51-year-old, who works full time as an osteopath near Bristol, previously held the record between 2012 and 2015 at 52.74mph until it was broken by Swiss windsurfer Karin Jaggi who hit 53.2mph. Ms Davis said she still believes she can go faster but was delighted to regain the record.
Away in a DANGER! Schoolchildren forced to wear SAFETY HELMETS during their nativity play over health and safety fears
The Bridge Church nativity in Neath, Wales, will see Mary and Joseph riding into town on two donkeys this Saturday. The pair will be sporting an addition to the tale of Christmas, after organisers were told the children needed to wear hard hats so they didn't breach tough council rules. Mark Barrett, a youth worker at The Bridge Church, said he was advised any children riding the donkeys would need to don the headwear as they were on a public highway. Pictured is Keziah Wapshott, six, riding a donkey through the town wearing a helmet.
Now THAT'S festive! Christmas house is festooned with thousands of lights, reindeer and even giant stars on the roof
The occupants in the home on Hill Farm Road in Marlow Bottom, Buckinghamshire, have lit up the neighbourhood with festive cheer this December. Even the trees have been decorated with red and white lights and both entrances to the home have pretty archways, with love hearts at the top (inset). On the top floor windows and above the garage, an array of purple lights can be seen glowing, with white snowflakes at either end of the house.
BBC accused of racism after it played a clip of the WRONG Indian actor to mark death of Bollywood legend Shashi Kapoor
The BBC was accused of racism last night after it played a clip of the wrong actor while paying tribute to Bollywood legend Shashi Kapoor (left). Tributes poured in from all around the world for the actor who made more than 100 films and died on Monday in Mumbai at the age of 79. His death made the BBC News at Ten, but the video tribute they played caused fury because it showed footage of fellow star Amitabh Bachchan by mistake (bottom right). It got worse when they also featured footage of actor Rishi Kapoor (top right) instead of his famous uncle. The BBC faced backlash on social media with users claiming it was an insult that showed to some 'brown people' look the same. The dog meat farm in Namyangju where the animals were found is thought to be one of 17,000 in South Korea that breed more than 2.5million dogs a year for human consumption. If they weren’t saved by HSI, the dogs would have been electrocuted at a local market or slaughterhouse and made into a spicy soup, called bosintang.
