For it has emerged a scammer pretending to be her manager Larry Rudolph persuaded her music label to send him four dozen of her unreleased songs.
A suspect has since been apprehended, and in a twist he is said to be a lawyer studying intellectual property law.

Move over The Italian Job: A scammer pretending to be Britney Spears manager Larry Rudolph persuaded her music label to send four dozen of her unreleased songs it has emerged
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the crook pretended to be Larry in emails sent to RCA Records.
He sent missives from a specially created fake email address 'larry.rudolph@aol.com,' which was enough to trick workers at the label into sending over the songs.
In total the impersonator is said to have made off with 49 digital files, which included 12 tunes earmarked for her Glory album, which was released in August 2016.

The stolen material will surely be considered a veritable goldmine by fans of the Baby One More Time star.
The suspected thief has since been apprehended, and in an ironic twist he is said to be an attorney studying intellectual property law at UCLA.
A search warrant was obtained by the Los Angeles Police Department in October 2016 and June 2017, which allowed them to search AOL and Microsoft records for the suspect’s email account.
