'Sometimes I want to look like a boy': Zoë Kravitz flashes major cleavage in sexy photoshoot as she talks about her relationship with fashion and film

She was pegged as one of the 'best dressed' females in fashion, early on in 2017.

But Zoe Kravitz, 29, says the secret to her style is more organic than following trends, suggesting that she takes inspiration from films and roles.

She hints that her choices aren't defined by gender as she poses in a series of sultry designer outfits for ELLE magazine

On how fashion inspires her acting roles, she said: 'For me, clothes are a gateway to characters.

'I watch Audrey Hepburn movies and I want to do my makeup like that. I watch Stand By Me and I think, I want to look like a boy.'

While her father is world renowned musician Lenny Kravitz, it's mother Lisa Bonet who she followed into acting.

On how she fell in love with the big screen as a child, Zoe explained: 'Films kind of became my friends.'

She went on: 'I didn't grow up with television. We had a TV, but it wasn't connected to anything except for a VCR.

'My mom [Lisa Bonet] would go to the video store, and I was allowed to watch one movie a weekend. I was an only child, and your imagination goes crazy.'

Zoe is currently starring as Bonnie Carlson in Amazon Prime series Big Little Lies - and she has A-list company on the set.

On her cast mates, Zoe said: '[Working with] women like Laura [Dern] and Nicole [Kidman] and Reese [Witherspoon] - I've grown up watching them, and to me they're, just untouchable... They were so encouraging.'

'When those women are in your corner, it gives you a little pep in your step.'

In the issue, Zoe joins her friend Janelle Monáe to talk about projects in Hollywood, but also Harvey Weinstein.

On the importance of being honest, Zoe continued: 'It’s good to be polite, but it’s important to be honest.

'There’s a difference between saying hurtful things and saying, "This may be a little uncomfortable, but no." Or "Please remove your hand from my lower back" or "You made a weird joke. Why did you make that joke?"'
