And Irish group U2 take their smash hits to the iconic Abbey Road studios as they perform their chart-topping tracks for a BBC special.

Presented by Cat Deeley, U2 At The BBC will not only see an intimate performance from the quartet, but will also feature a discussion on the group's undeniably strong musical chemistry.

The  hour-long music entertainment show will be broadcast on BBC One, with promotional shots taking inspiration from 1960s band The Beatles.

Owning two Golden Globes and 22 Grammy Awards, U2 pair their biggest songs with exclusive tracks from their 14th album, Songs of Experience, released on Friday.

Focusing on their prosperous musical journey, the band enjoy a lengthy chat from their start in a garden shed, to how they've maintained their close-knit bond throughout the years.

U2 also pay tribute to influential Australian musician Michael Hutchence, founding member of rock band INXS.

The group will address the reasoning behind their 13th album Songs of Innocence, which was gifted to iTunes Store customers free of charge.

Opening the upcoming show, host Cat expresses the significance behind the emblematic recording space:  'Abbey Road Studios have played home to the great and the good, from classical masterpieces to modern day classics.'

She continues: 'Everyone from Pink Floyd and the Beatles, to Amy Winehouse and The Drifters have at some stage created some musical magic within the hallowed walls. Now it’s U2’s turn to make history.'

Commenting on their proven captivation, the 41-year-old goes on: 'Four disarmingly charming gents, each funny and eloquent in their own unique ways. A forty year friendship, so unusual and so deliciously apparent, the audience will find it infectious.'
