Lea Michele turns heads in a plunging striped blouse and skintight jeans as she attends Sisters In Sweat event

She's better known for her acting talents than her athletic prowess.

But Lea Michele was the guest of honor as she attended Gatorade's Sisters In Sweat event at Awesomeness HQ in Santa Monica, Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The former Glee star, 31, turned heads as she hit the red carpet in a plunging striped blouse and skintight jeans ahead of giving an empowering talk to teen female athletes.

The actress' maroon and white striped top paired a deep neckline with dramatically puffed sleeves.

Teaming her flowing blouse with fitted skinny jeans by Mother denim, Lea turned around on the red carpet to offer a glimpse of her peachy posterior.

The actress and singer added brown suede heels by designer Stella Luna along with diamond earrings to complete the look.

The Broadway star slicked back her brunette locks and added a perky ponytail, while accentuating her stunning features with low-key make-up.

Lea, who is a born and bred New Yorker, displayed her picture perfect glow for her army of social media followers.

The former performer posted a close up of her make-up look on Instagram.

Tuesday's athlete-focused event was part of Gatorade's Sisters In Sweat initiative, which encourages young female athletes to continue pursuing sports.

Lea used her Instagram to talk about the role athletics played in her life, sharing: 'Volleyball was a big part of my life as a teen, so encouraging girls to keep playing is close to my heart.'

The sports beverage brand kicked off the campaign with a commercial starring tennis pro and new mom Serena Williams back in late November.

The ad opens with the tennis star cradling a baby in what appears to be her nursery, as she delivers a message to her little girl about sport and how crucial it is to just 'keep playing'.

And Lea shared with Us Magazine that she works on her fitness whenever she has free time, but not because of any outside pressures.

'I’m proud that I never really changed my body for anyone else,' she said. 'We’re always told, especially nowadays with social media and everything, that you have to look a certain way, and I really just honored my uniqueness.

'I believe that’s really helped me get to where I am today.'

And the celebrity revealed that she's not keen on gyms 'with crazy music playing and people looking at themselves in the mirror.'

She'd rather go hiking which is  'super easy for me because I live near some really great trails.

'It is so spiritually incredible as well as physically - I look for workouts that have to be also good for my spirit as much as they are for my body.'

Lea's been proud to use her platform to support women, the LGBTQ community and the environment.

In 2014, she teamed up with Evian to encourage women to get screened for breast cancer while continuing her philanthropy as a part of the Human Rights Campaign.
