Toys 'R' Us bosses set for £10.5m in bonuses - despite firm going bankrupt and shutting a quarter of its UK stores
Incompetance bonus: Bosses at collapsed Toys 'R' Us are set to be paid £10.5m
Top bosses at Toys R Us are set to be paid £10.5million in bonuses despite the company going bankrupt and shutting a quarter of its UK stores.
A US judge has ruled that 17 executives can be handed the payouts if they meet performance targets of £410million in sales during the run-up to Christmas.
Toys R Us said it needed to offer bonuses to motivate them.
Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy in the US and Canada in September.
The decision to pay bonuses came despite the US bankruptcy watchdog saying Toy R Us bosses earned more than industry rivals.
